Yep, last time was 5 years ago, the game that got nutty with Simon/Hollweg 2, Orr, Sutton hit on Callahan. DP kicked the crap out of Montoya, I was there that night. Long time ago already. |

I think Drury scored 2 goals in that gm & I said to my brother something like, "this guy is gonna be the real deal!" |

I was there too...good event...I won't even call it a game, since it was more of a spectacle, but it was entertaining. One of those pure chaos events that reminded me of something you'd have seen during the crazy Baumgartner/Domi days. |

I'll probably try to make it to the Rags game, but my preseason priority is to make it to Brooklyn. |

Some tweets regarding Bobby Ryan...

Ball is in #Sabres court right now for landing Ryan but they don't want to give up too much to the #NHLDucks. Would like Roy instead of Adam

#Sabres and #NHLDucks discussions HEATING UP. ANA putting pressure on Buffalo to up its bid; discussing Luke Adam, Stafford, Grigorenko.

Yep, same here. I bought 8 tickets for Brooklyn before I even knew if anyone would go. Now I have more people interested than tickets to give out, so I may get more. I think it's critical to have a strong showing there...not necessarily because Brooklyn's the answer, but it shows the fans are still around and will support a local move out of Nassau. I'm doing my part. |

They are going to want Strome and Dehaan as a start for Ryan. |

Teams need to know that the Ducks screwed themselves here and need to move Ryan now.....I still don't think in the end it will take much for the trade to happen.

why would you be? You can't honest tell me you thought he was going to resign here especially with the deal Ruutu got. I mean come on. He'll probably end up in Columbus! Have fun PA, ya (frank)face. |

Exactly. There has to be some serious headline like, "Wang shoots Snow" before I even consider it. |

I don't know, he produced no matter the line he played on..he was a good set up man and had chemistry with JT....yeah I did think he would to be honest...he was a key component to the offense that we had plenty of time to get a deal done with....I agree though that as many others guys that left for the $$$$ (blake) he will fail with a team like the Jackets... |

I can't be disappointed in PA for wanting to test the market, he's 29, only had a couple seasons in the NHL and obviously is looking for a payday and this opportunity may only come once for him
That being said, I am going to laugh when another team signs him to a multiyear contract over 4 million per year. I think he benefitted enormously from playing with JT and got first line PP minutes all year, even for the short time he was playing on the second line. His stats are inflated from this IMO, and I'd be surprised if he was able to put up 40 points next season on another team.
He's going to get a large contract, that will turn into an anchor for the unlucky team that thinks he's worth it. A fair deal would have been 3 years at 2.8 mil per season.
I do think that when he leaves, he'll have a season that resembles more what he did with the rangers and possibly end up buried in the AHL by the end of the year or the following season.
Jason Blake didn't hurt the Isles by leaving, and PA's upcoming contract will be the same situation. Unfortunately it's not clear who the Isles can fit into that spot on JT's wing that would be ready to contribute. Asking that of Nino or Strome would be foolish and set them up to fail this coming year. It's going to leave the Isles with a hole on the wing but PA at more than 3 mil a season is not smart business.
Yes the Isles have the cap space to sign him, but not using it responsibly is what causes terrible contracts and problems later.

But I believe he will thrive in Montreal and the Isles will be left linking their wounds if we dont legitimately replace him.
I dont see anyone within the organization that can duplicate PAP's numbers at present. So unless we trade for or acquire someone thru UFA (which is gonna cost the same money that PAP wants ) we lose a heck of a lot of offense this coming yr. Also, our top line becomes history. Some new chemistry may take some time to brew up.
Hope they dont rush Strome up before he's ready.

Howson said he had a tentative deal to move down if Murray wasn't available at 2, or in another words they had to take Yakupov. I believe that deal was the rumored deal of NYI's entire draft class for that pick. So he only would have done it if there was no Murray. |
