People forget that Schenn is still only 21 years old. Leaf fans get ripped on for a reason, don't give up on the guy.

The only way you move him is in a package for a top tier center. Theres not many available if any, so sit tight and play the games.

it's eks gig to pretend to be an insider, I get it, it's a cute lil schtick, ....but 'mike in buffalo' pretending he's heard of an 'increase in volume' of the churning rumour mill yet providing not one tidbit of new rumour material is just silly.

The only reason I wouldn't love a trade for JVR is because of all the reports I've read that say he wont go into the dirty areas. We need a big player in our top 6 specifically TO go into the dirty areas. What's the point of trading for a large winger if he doesn't do the things we need a large winger for?

Franson: 6'5" 24yo - Offense First, but rounding out defensive game nicely.

Schenn is replaceable with our talent, and he would probably bring back the best return of the bunch... We dont have JVRs to spare, and should take an opportunity to get one.

Same, unless it's a really good +. But if it's like JVR and a 3rd for Schenn then I definitely wouldn't do it. I don't see what all the hype is about to be honest. He's probably going to end up with another season under 50 points playing on a very good team. People overrate him a bit because he was 2nd overall but in reality it was a horrible draft.

Yeah we have depth on defense but theres better players out there than JVR. Your also taking a guy on a 6 year contract. Holzer has no NHL experience and Aulie is still a work in progress. Blacker is a prospect with upside.

Schenn is definetely our best asset and if were going to trade him we need to assess our being weakness. A centerman

2009 - 78gms, 15gs, 35pts
2010 - 75gms, 21gs, 40pts
2011 (on pace) - 71gms, 21gs, 42pts

The only reason he gets any credit was because he put up 7 goals in 11 playoff games last year.

I don't wanna see Schenn traded unless its for an impact forward who we know can produce. Not some 20 goal scorer, who had a good 11 games last season.

I would take a healthy JVR for Schenn.

We wouldnt miss schenn in the lineup

with bozak fitting in as well as he has oon the top line, i think a power forward is a more pressing issue...mean, nasty top six winger

certainly not this season....but if he reaches his potential we might.....if jvr hits his potential we are good to go. JVR has the higher ceiling from what I saw last year in the playoffs. He has the ability to dominate.
.....but, as things go in leafland, jvr will be the next poni or antropov and schenn will be better version of foote.

So you want to trade an unproven commodity in Schenn for a proven elite talent?

I'd love to do the same, but I'm being realistic here.

Neither JVR or Schenn have proven consistency at the NHL level, and neither is living up to their hype at the moment. JVR has more potential than Schenn I would say, and I think that he would garner more in a trade. However, seeing that PHI is more in need of a defenceman than we are of a forwrd, Burke may be able to swing that in our favour.

Again thought, it would be beneficial for us to make this trade I believe.
