we still own our first pick this year right?
Which pick was going to Montreal for the Monahan deal again? |

It's most likely that Florida's 2025 pick goes to Montreal. They could have taken this year's pick if the Flames finished in the top 12, but they aren't likely going to. The first the Flames got (and traded) from Florida is top ten protected, so if the Panthers bomb next season; things get complicated. |

Treliving was such a piece of sh!t for this. It is definitely in the Flames best interest to tank next year as well so reports of Conroy being active in Free Agency this summer would be foolhardy. Florida's pick this year will definitely be in the late 20's so no worries about it getting deferred, & I find it highly unlikely Florida misses playoffs next year, they have an excellent team. So a top 10 pick next year is pretty important & then Montreal can get the Florida pick.
Curious Trevor, you think Montreal would opt for the Vancouver pick this year as payment in liu of that pick or is this draft too weak & they already have enough picks in the 1st round this year for their liking.
Also curious, if Jersey falls to a top 10 pick this year would you trade Markstrom for that pick? & would you trade Andersson for either Buffalo's or Ottawa's 1st this year which are tracking to be top 10 picks as well? |

So you're telling me there's a chance.
Unfortunately in slot 8,9 or 10 we have better odds to move down a pick or 2 than move into the one hole but wouldnt it be sweet to steal a Celebrini. |

I think it will depend on how Vancouver does in the playoffs, and where the pick is. If Montreal is looking at a certain player at that spot, they would opt for that pick. Does Conroy have to establish that or could they just do a side deal?
If the Flames could get NJ 1st and Buffalo or Ottawa’s, that would allow them to draft a center, D and Iginla. To me that would be a great start to retooling.
They might also package up Vancouvers 1st and a 2nd to get another top 12 pick. |

Get real, we aren’t the Oilers!
Flames never have had the 1st overall pick, so maybe the lottery gets fixed. |

Yeah Conroy saying he will be active but I can't see him going big game hunting.
With guys like Mitch McLean chomping at the bit I really hope they do not over pay any of these 4th line vets to stick around.
Of these guys, Dryden Hunt, AJ Greir, Rooney and Deuhr....who do you keep?
I am so dissapointed with Deuhr this year. I really like Greir, Rooney is a center.

My choice is Grier, he wants to be here & a perfect 4th line guy to revolve young guys around. Deuhr meh I agree, a bit disappointed in his game this year & Rooney is ok but we've already had 2 years of been there & done that. |

They might. They'll probably bank on the Panthers having some injuries after this year's playoffs. Probably would depend on if their scouting department really liked at player projected to go 29-32 this year.
I'd trade that, but who knows what Fitzgerald wants to do. Sounded pretty chapped about the Markstrom deal being held up a few times. New Jersey is probably in a playoff spot if Flames ownership hadn't nixed the cap retention. |

Has Allen been a decent addition for them? I believe he is also signed for next year as well.

Its too late to change what happened at the deadline for Marky and the organisation so if NJ's pick is on the table for Marky, I 100% make that deal (could well be Tij).
After moving both Hani and Tanev it would be a tough call to trade Ras too.... maybe for Ottawa's pick at 6 or 7 but Buffalo's pick at 10 -14 is likely not enough. |

I’d take Buffalos 1st for Andersson. If they had 3 picks in the top 14th that would be a huge kickstart for the Flames. They essentially could take 1 of the center prospects, a D + Tij, I’d also look at moving Vans 1st and a 2nd and or 3rd to move up in the top 15 if that’s what it takes. |

Ummm so what are the conditions again for us to receive Florida's 2025 pick?
So if we have their 2025 pick, we want to be in the top 10 right? so then Montreal just gets Florida's....if we are in spot #11, Montreal gets our pick!?

I've boiled it down in my head to "Go Panthers Go!" Probably easiest to stick to that. |

Poor bastards. Same place in the standings, so much more misery getting there. Here's to Huska and stomping out the OT loss trend. |

Why is Coronato still with the Flames? Practicing with the big team isn’t as good as leading the Wranglers. |
