Well at Patty didn't have to wait 37 years like Jean Ratelle.... It was long but it had some really great moments. Elias and Travis speeches were good and would have been enough beyond the MC speaking.
I don't know how accurate it was but it was nice to hear from Elias directly that the organization treated him well regarding the decision to retire and thru the attempted rehab.
Patty's speech was certainly one of the best retirement speeches by an athlete that I've ever seen. He barely used his notes (just to keep on track, he didn't read them), acknowledged all the folks & ex-players that were there, and was really personable.
I always felt good when Elias was on the ice - I suppose that's the highest compliment that I could give.
I sure wish the Devils would start their "Ring of Honor" to honor guys like Johnny Mac and Sergei Brylin.
