Glad to see Hak at least trying something different with the forwards and getting Weise and Lehtera on different lines. - BiggE
So let's put a slug on 2 lines instead of two on one line. As a matter of fact with the way Simmer is playing I'm not sure Weal is going to have fun tonight. |

Yeah, it's not optimal, but I can live for it for a game or 2. Hopefully Patrick can return for the Winnipeg game. If so, I'd also tweak the 4th line and go with:
The usual 1st line
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds
Raffl-Patrick-TK
Leier-Laughton-Weise
Lehtera can join Read for popcorn.
And, if Lindblom continues to play well, hopefully we soon see:
The usual 1st line
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds
Raffl or Lindblom-Patrick-TK
Leier-Laughton-Raffl or Lindblom
Weise and Lehtera sharing popcorn and Read enjoying the scenic Lehigh Valley.

They are now known as the new New Jersey Devils and may they rot in hell.

Boudreau usually goes to the trap when his team is struggling |

Bruce is just learning from one of the best in the business on how to treat your players. None other than Dave Hakstol |

I just wish they would put Lehtera and Weise with Filppula and give them ~8 minutes of even strength time. |

a slow due to injury Patrick or one of the herman monster twins (Lehtera and Weise), pretty much wraps up the middle 6 right now
Trade for Evander Kane
short of that-
I agree move raffle up, sit Weise only because Lethera can take faceoffs and has better hands, beyond that they are about the same player. I dont think Laughton and Leier will miss a beat |

A big problem I see right now is you have almost 4 guys that just aren't bringing enough right now in the middle 6(Simmonds, Lehtera, Weise and Filpulla).
Once Patrick is back and if the 4 i mentioned seem to struggle still i would like to see the below for certain reasons:
Giroux - Couturier - Voracek
(still creating chances)
Weal - Patrick - Konecny
(small on wings but both have speed and play bigger, give two skilled wingers to the play maker Patrick)
Weise - Filpulla- Simmonds
(big wingers. line needs to keep it simple and score ugly. Maybe bring some edge. Maybe an ugly goal will break Simmonds out of ES slump)
Leier - Laughton - Raffl
(other than top line the most consistent line and plays fast)

Too many armchair coaches in here for my liking. How many of you have real world hockey experience? If not, your opinion is irrelevant, peasant!
The problem is you can't just put skill players into the lineup. Gotta have the right mix of forwards which is what Hakstol is correctly doing.
Weise and Lehtera are the glue that hold together the bottom six. They have the right amount of sand paper to their game to counterbalance the namby pampy dingly dangling of guys like TK.
This is how hockey works fellas. Been the same for 40+ years. Get with the program. |

Why does leier Laughton raffl 1 es goal make them a permanent line ? Sounds like peb vdv again. |
