If the Coyotes would take Grossmann then it's conceivable that somebody would take Luke Schenn. But at that $3.5M cap hit, who would want to give up assets to play him as deep in the rotation as he belongs?

As for Brayden Schenn, many teams would be happy to get a middle 6 player like him with the potential that he has. He has a year left before asking to be paid like a 20+ goal scorer and Hextall doesn't appear to be in a rush to sign him. Hexy needs to know what he's got in Lecavalier, Umberger and Gagner before knowing what to do with Schenn so I understand why teams would be calling.

It was a gamble 3 years ago when the flyers took a chance on him, he has since done nothing to make anyone believe he's an NHL defenceman. It's not a gamble or a flyer anymore. He's not good.

Brayden Schenn in the past 2 seasons has 88 points. How many 5th liners can make that statement? He's an inconsistent third liner whose young and has experience at all 3 positions.. he actually has better stats than jvr had at this point in his career before we shipped him for Luke Schenn and is now considered a major building block.

True, I have to give Brayden some credit. I think why people sell him so short is that he was making so much progress at moving up, then kind of stalled..
