Glad to here Toews is feeling alright , that hit could have been very bad . A very careless play by Sidenberg to say the least . Also glad to here Crow getting closer , Darling has been great , but he is no Crow .. |

Jerem Morin to the Pens for Brain Doumalin... thoughts Hawks fans? - Willaged
I'd be ok with it, but wish he was a 6'4" winger, vs a defenseman. I like what little I've seen of Klas and Clen, especially with their willingness to shoot from the point.
I still would like to see Morin get more PT, but not sure from whose expense it would come from. |

Brian Dumolin has a bit of an offensive game but I don't think he skates well enough to fit the Hawks attack. And he is this big guy who doesn't really use his size with much edge.
I like Scott Harrington better.
Both these contracts fit is a swap.
I am thinking that the hawks would even prefer Pen's Oskar Sundqvist, a centre still playing for SkellefteƄ because I think he was one of the guys that was in their draft tier group when the took JR's relative Chris Calnan but also were very high on Sundqvist.
But you are thinking this through very well that Morin either yileds a long term mid level prospect a mid round pick or a vet at the deadline... |

Maybe one of the three GMs in Montreal Boston and Pittsburgh were just being polite, but one of them told the press that he inquired about Morin and was told he was not on the market.
This is a polite way to say you don't have the pieces or want to give what the hawks want, but you don't want the media complicating a touchy situation fort Bowman, Morin and any intereste parties....

There's no way Toews didn't suffer some kind of concussion from that header. Even if it's a minor one they should keep him out a few games minimum primarily for his health and second to protect their long term investment. Anyone who has had concussions before (myself included) knows that even if you may "feel fine" after something like what he had happen, it won't take much of a hit to the head to bring on bigger problems. Especially with his history I think they are taking a bigger long term gamble here playing him tonight and for the next week minimum. |

Somehow I wish he would sit one out, but this may be just another way for them to deflect the negative publicity, with a quick return.
You KNOW Taser will try his bet to hide any injury.
See!? He's OK!
and then we see he sit aginst Calgary.
I am all for giving him a game off after tonight.
And Bruins Seidenberg was just playing the game the way it has evolved: when you are getting close to the end of the playing surface and a guy close to there has touched the puck, you see all players NEVER missing a beat to make contact.
This needs to change from where to all players it's a natural action, don't NOT let up or don't slow up...that needs to change somehow.
The laughed at Brain Burke, when Burkie suggested the bear hug check, but as a Toews fan I'd hate to not be able to watch him for the entire contract and then some.
The rules but the culture of that situation has to be changed, period. |

I think it is great for all of us to get Rockford defenseman replacements by committee, because we all get to get excited priase the positives and then after sevral viewing get to see the negatives too.
For em from TvR, toClendening, to Dahlbeck, I love the nature progression of highs and lows.
I was really feeling Dahlbeck, until the Bruins game when suddenld he seemed exposed flat footed and rushed.
I am not giving up on these youngsters, just saying it is very diifcult to crack the fraternity at that position and be effective all around right away.

I think TVR is going to be the real deal based on what he showed prior to the injury. Top 4 potential long term. The rest of the bunch will need to improve to stay long term but they all have some pretty good upside and I like the depth we have. I could see them putting TVR with Oduya when he comes back and playing Dahlbeck with Hammer to see how that plays out prior to the playoffs in case Rozy runs out of gas. |

Seidenberg is not a dirty player like Orpik and this hit wasn't as bad as last year because at least the puck was involved. That said the league can't outlaw advantageous hits and Seidenberg didn't let up....Unfortunately only the players can really make the game safer. But when they finish on a defenseless player bad things can happen. If Toews doesn't have time to turn his head slightly that could have been a lot worse.

It is a fortunate situation for the Hawks to have the ability to let a group of boys get a turn and learn. But as u said it takes time..
TVR had the best instincts of the bunch and that's why he stayed up but there were times his youth showed...But his mistakes were not frequent.
The key for next year will be which one can play top 4 minutes because in the Q model those boys are ridden hard.

We like Harrington too. I think if he was to be invovled in a deal I would assume he would be part of a package to obtain an established top 6, not a project/risk like Morin.
Sunqvist, Pens prospect forward depth is so thin (Sundqvist and Kapenan are the only real forward prospects showing NHL potential right now) I see them trying everything they can to swing a deal with out moving either of those guys. It helps this season, but as far as patching up our future forward depth, moving one of those guys for another propect forward would be a lateral move for Pitts long term. |

Broadly speaking he probably did...my understanding is there is no single definition of concussion, minor head injury, or mild traumatic brain injury that is universally accepted. On this view many players are experiencing concussions with every game. Responses and symptoms are highly idiosyncratic and depend on the person being honest and revealing those symptons. There is no concussion meter available. They pulled him...protocols and his feedback are not revealing any issues. He should play. |

No way in hell for jones, extra year at 4mil won't happen. Even if you wanted to trade glencross at half salary it MAYBE works. So doubt it will happen. |

It would be great to get an in the system prospect for Morin as opposed to a pick. My guess this is what StanBow is angling for. The problem is he has no leverage. The kid can't crack the line-up after 4 plus yrs in the hwk system and the hwks do need to make a move here for $$ reasons. |
