Great read and nice picture ! Jagr seems so fun to play with, too bad their was no room for him in Montreal.

Very well said. Jagr gets a bad rap in Pittsburgh because of the way his time there ended. I hope at some point the fans will forgive and realize how blessed they were to have (no disrespect to Wayne) the greatest to ever play (Mario) and Jagr playing together at the same time. Watching those two as I grew up created a base for a lifetime love of hockey that I have.

And Paul, I can say too that hockey isnt the same without the referees like You, Fraser, etc.... you guys had personality and were recognizable. Now, its just some guy in a striped suit with #62 on their back.

Really well stated article on one of the games greats. Glad to see him still succeeding and having fun out there when all of his contemporaries are long retired.

I knew about Jagr the player watching him all those years playing for the Pens, Caps, and Rangers. But I didn't understand what kind of man he was until he played that one season for the Flyers.

The guy is a leader on and off the ice. He is a workout monster whose regimen is the stuff of legend. I still wish he was playing with the Flyers. He made every player on the ice better just by being there.

Thank you Paul. I can't think of too many players in the NHL from my childhood that had a bigger impact on me than Jagr. I cherish this insight.

Jagr just seems to love the game of hockey.
He has always (when able) played for Czech Republic in World Championships and rightfully scolded team mates half his age declining because of fatique.

No matter what jersey he dons I will always appreciate Jagr. What he did for every team he played for, yes even Washington, is remarkable but for a die hard Rangers fan(me) I will always be eternally grateful for bringing that organization back from the dead like he did.

His 2005-06 season is one of the most dominant I have ever seen. He was robbed of the Hart Trophy, without question.

Great read.
