You'd have to have LA, CGY, SJ, COL, and maybe PHX together lose basically all of their games from this point onwards, with the Ducks winning all of their games from this point forward. Impossible. Simple as that.

It's nice to see Anaheim not giving up, regardless. 11 games = possibly 22 points. 8th is expected to be around 93 points this year. (Right now anyways)

Anaheim even has 5 games remaining (including tonight) against the teams they are chasing. They would need to win the majority of those games in regulation but not all. They are still pretty close to the pack in ROW. (27 vs 31)

One thing that helps Anaheim, Colorado & Calgary a little is that the PAC teams all play each other quite a bit down the stretch here. Which means they will be ripping points away from each other quite often. If one or two teams do not tear it up in the Pacific.. Splitting up those available points could be very costly and drive that 8th seed down even further.

No there is not a very good chance Anaheim makes it, but that is how great stories are made.. By overcoming insurmountable odds.

(Btw.. I don't really understand Vancouver fans coming in here to kick the dog. Your team is showing the classic signs of not giving a poop down the stretch here. Go ahead keep losing.. Because all it would take is a nice 5 game losing streak and a 5 game winning streak by either Calgary or Colorado to catch you. 4-4-2 in your last 10? Lost your last 2?)

The idea is to win tonight to help make your chances impossible. Playing spoiler, watching teemu, and seeing what kids like Palmeiri can do are all that we have left this season.

dude face it... you dont hear 'go ducks go' chants at staples as loud as the 'go kings go' chants at staples south (aka the pond). no one in the OC cares about the ducks unless they are winning. which they arent doing now and wont be doing for a while, so go enjoy the angels games!

i feel bad for this steve palumbo guy... eklund lets him have a job but tells him he has to cover the worst team in the league. worst fan base, worst announcers and a mid 20s ryan getzlaughedat who is almost all the way bald. that sucks

We know that we are not going to make the playoffs, but that is fine. You know why? The ducks constantly make the playoffs and do a fun thing called making it past the first round. It's an off year, but there is still plenty hope for the future. When's the last time the kings have done that?

So go ahead. Gloat all you want. There are only two scenarios for the kings this season- a first round exit or most likely missing the playoffs. Sounds like a great season!
