Toews, in my opinion, is the only true untouchable player on the Hawks.
However Kane, and only if the deal makes sense for the team, could be moved.

I am also hearing—rumor mind you, take it as such— that Kane's attitude is not great; that he is not happy with shuttling from wing to center, and also that some players in the dressing room might not be terribly happy with him. - John Jaeckel
That's actually printed on page 14 of the 2011-12 Blackhawks media guide. |

There was a speck of dust on my monitor that made that last m look like an r and an n. I was thinking that was the strangest trade suggestion I had ever read. |

I agree. Toews is an unreal talent, and a good leader. I could never see them parting with him. Kane on the other hand would net great returns to the right bidder.
It still breaks my heart that Pittsburgh passed him (Toews) for Staal. |

Burke would be all over this!!
Met Kane on a flight from Charlotte to Buffalo and I was weraing a Gilmour Tee and we started chatting and he commented how much he liked Dougie Gilmour and how dedicated we are tot he Leafs.
He would be perfect between Kessel and Lupul....
I would go as far as to offer kadri,Schenn and 1st. |

If.. IF Kane could get a guy like Nash or Perry. I'd probably do it..
I just don't think Anaheim or Columbus make that trade.
The only way I would entertain a trade would be for a legit scoring, signed, 1st line right wing.
You don't trade him for a 2nd line center, a 3rd line winger and a prospect.. You get equal value back.

I see all the points... I just don't see giving up on such a young guy. There are plenty of other people on this team getting paid way to much for what they do. You could save money and get players in return for certain other players. Hammer, Monty, Frolik, Bolland are all being overpaid for the services they provide. If you want to have half your cap space tied to your core you can't overspend on these 4 players. Hammer has to do more than block shots, we shouldn't be looking for another 3-4 d-man to help this team. Monty, well he isn't what I would call a good investment. Frolik has to provide something more than effort. Bolland has to take the #2C job..... No if and's or but's he is getting paid way to much to be a player in the playoffs only. |

I know many won't remember me from last season with the suggestion of trading PK for Milan Lucic. I don't think they (Boston) would do this now, but Lucic would look good wearing the Indian head. Now the cloumbus trade is intresting, if the hawks could bring Brassard with Nash for a Kane + deal. However I see the Sabers as a team that needs to do something drastic. It's Kaners stomping grounds and the Sabers have some nice players we could use. Which brings up the question of what would other GMs from the east pay to pick up Kane?
I say trade him. |

You would have to include a legitimate stud in a package for Kane. I don't know where the Leafs would start or how they would match up. |

If he is available I would be sure Terry Pegula would be screaming at DR to get an offer. I went to his first game in Buffalo ( an OT win for the sabres) .
Kane scored the only goal for the Hawks if im not mistaken and got a standing ovation. Fans chanted his name...screamed when they showed his face on the jumbotron.
He would be immortalized in Buffalo.
Pomminville, Buffalos 1st this season and a prospect not named Kassian or McNabb for 88 |

I had a feeling a blog of this type would come up after JJ mentioned something about Kane being on his "poopie" list in a thread a couple of days ago.
I agree with you pri$ey. If it's going to come down to dealing Kane, I think you bring up some good points there. If you're considering Nash though, you're taking away another $1.5 million in available cap space. Perry's contract is up after next season, what does everyone think he's going to get on the open market? Does Bobby Ryan equal Kane's talents, or is that a step down?
I agree, Kane shouldn't be dealt for a 2nd line center. But what about Kane plus for someone like Stamkos? I guess if we're going to venture into the world of "what-if's," shouldn't we aim higher?

When we last saw Kane against the Predators, he was circling center ice— looking to cherry pick— leaving his teammates to kill off a penalty, essentially 3 on 5. Don't believe me, ask Pat Foley, who pointed it out.
Q puts him out there every time when this situation happens (when they are down a goal killing a penalty). Every time Kane is at center ice looking for a breakaway so obviously the coaches are fine with it or they wouldn't keep putting him out there in those situations. Go back and watch the playoff game against the preds that is where he was then as well. I am not saying that is why they scored that goal but I wouldn't point that out as a reason to bash Kane's lack of effort.
As for trading him if the right deal comes along (like a Nash) you have to do it. Kane is not an untouchable as others have said the only untouchable is Toews.
