Agree with all statements, except that I don't think it would work for the Jets in the return from Edmonton and Arizona, and Anaheim can't take him on with the cap dollars involved. While I'm not an expert, the truth seems to be that there are no teams that are an ideal trading partner. If that was the case, this deal would have gone down months ago, so something has to give here. Either Cheveldayoff changes his demands and expands his criteria, Trouba sucks it up or sits out. Right now, it is the latter and must change to one of the other two in order for anything to move forward. |

To ARZ: Jacob Trouba, Andrew Copp, 2017 1st round pick
To WPG: Oliver Ekman Larsson
Great deal for both teams. Jets get the player that is ready to go now. Arizona seems to be building for the future.
Tanner, Jets don't want prospects. We have plenty of them. |

I could see him going east. Carolina has prospects, and is rebuilding. And of course Boston, who has been kicking his name around since June.
He will not end up in the Central division, unless someone over pays. |

That is not nearly enough for OEL. |

If they add Laine to that package I'm not 100% sure the Coyotes would do it. OEL is a franchise defenseman and maybe the best all-round defenseman in the NHL.
He also has a very cheap contract. He is untradable. |

I doubt the Ducks go Trouba for Fowler 1 for 1 let alone Fowler + . When/ if the ducks move one of their D-men they are going to want young cheap expansion draft exempt players who are ready to jump in for 2017/2018 I would be surprised to see them make a move before the draft, shocked to see it before the trade deadline.
Personally I hope the leafs avoid the Trouba situation and look to the ducks around draft day to add a more experienced D-man. |

anyone with a contract of 2 years or less ( Fowler ) would not interest the Jets. I am starting to think he will be in the Jets line-up come November 1rst. This agent has tried and failed with this course of action before. Trouba will have to show more playing for the Jets before they can trade him for what they want and they wont take less to resolve this now. |

Agreed i think he'll be with the Jets.
I don't see any team offering the Jets what they want for Trouba, namely a defenseman, of the same age and of the same ability, only making less money. |

i just can't see Edmonton being a good destination as long as Winnipeg stays firm on their desired return. Edmonton only has 1 player that fits what Wpg wants and that is Klefbom. Then Edmonton would be weak on the left side but stronger on the Right. Plus Sekara should not play top pair so.... |

Trouba for maata makes a lot of sense. Would have to be a 1 for 1 as the Penguins basically need to win the trade to interest them. Most consider trouba the higher ceiling guy, but Maata is signed. Might include Fehr for cap reasons. |

You just said that Trouba paired with OEL would make the best defensive pair in the league. Meaning you believe that Trouba has franchise potential.
When OEL is mentioned as a possible trade target, you devalue Trouba.

I think Trouba, Laine and a 2017 1st would totally get it done, but I don't think Chevy would offer that. Nevertheless, I don't think OEL is on the table either so this is moot really.
Tanner: Who do you think the Yotes would offer in exchange for Trouba?
EDIT: looking into their roster and prospect depth, I don't see a LHD that fits what Chevy's looking for. |

OEL would never get traded for Trouba ... not in a million years.
Arizona would want to pair the two players, not swap them. It makes no sense whatsoever. It would never happen. Ever.
As of right now, I could see a straight up trade for Fowler (Maybe Fowler +), Nurse +, or some younger left D prospect from Carolina, Philly.
