I don't think effort is his issue. He can't create on his own unless he has the puck with speed, with space. He can't create nothing out of a broken play, which we see a lot of the "great" players do, ala Crosby's first goal against Russia. He's like a machine. If everything doesn't fit, it's not going to work.

Blackstrom, I disagree. He is a spectacularly talented hockey player that plays with grit and flair. He is not a player to rely on to win the big game with. He led them to the Presidents trophy in Washingtonn but as proven a million times, that is a conciliation prize at best in many cases.

He has a ridiculous wrist shot and a nose for the net when the puck is around. He hits whenever he cans. That's pretty much it.
