What would the Rangers be looking to get back from a kreider trade ? Younger cheap defence ? Forward prospect ? Picks or a combination of any of those lol ? Like if you trade him what do the Rangers need to get back.

Probably all of the above. The return would like need to blow away the Rangers to move Kreider, especially since he is arb eligible this year and next.

Yeah, didn't think he would come cheap just curious if he was dealt if it would be to fill the same need or for defensive help or if it would mostly cap related.

We should trade for him as an insurance policy so that he doesn't destroy Schneider at some point.
Jan you gotta ask yourself what expectations you had on these players before the season started. ACROSS THE BOARD people thought Kreider would have a 30 goal season where he's finally consistent and dominant from start to finish.
Can you really say his season was close to that? His season was a FAILURE in that regard. the only thing keeping it from not being a total failure is he still managed to pass 20 goals. In which case I give him a D+

I agree, which is why I went with the C+. Overall, lousy, but rallied late to end up with 21. I don't believe his season was particularly good and could see a lower grade. Went back and forth between C+, C, C-, maybe I was too generous.

A grade in the C range for any player just seems like a cop out to me
Either a player had a good season or a player had a bad season. A's and B's or D's and F's. No more C's
C = ehh.......I think that grade of "C" sums up the NYR season. Not too many failures but alot of play that left much to he desired, by most ranger players. Kreider was no different

Very few have received B's and unsure if I am giving any A's, a best, maybe one. D of F means failure and hard to say that a season was a failure. Girardi got a D, could see a few more with a D.

I agree with the C+ assessment, he was dreadfully inconsistent for two thirds of the season, finished strong and still give you hope at age 25, I'm not open to trading him, his size and speed are what's needed to win in today's NHL
Kreider is a mental midget that needs to get his head out if his ass. If over thinking got you an award he would be the all-time winner. He's like a Doberman pincher...the body type to be an awesome dog but a head too small for its brain. Frustrating is the word to describe his many off nights. I can go on but ultimately his potential is still there and give another year or 2. Playoff performance is what us keeping here for me and it has come in the regular season as well. C+

Adam the Nerd Herman just brought up something I didn't think of and haven't seen much about, I wonder how many more "rentals" will be available at next season's deadline, have to think it opens up the possibility of a lot of posturing leading up to the expansion draft

This is what I've been saying. He IS going to break out & I still think in Todd Bertuzzi type of a way (not including the savging of another man's career I hope). I can see us dealing him away & regretting it for a decade or more. Unless the right deal comes along(I mean, us being blown away w an offer) we have to keep him.

He was one of my favorites. I'm tired of waiting for the eventual "breakout year". Don't think it's ever coming. He doesn't play a full regular season.
