Never happy about the 2nd being traded. Trader Jim treats picks like candy. Maybe Strombone1 should make an Oprah tweet gif on that:
You get a 2nd
You get a 2nd
EVERYBODY GETS A 2ND!!!!!
I like adding Guddy. We needed a dman. But a 1 trick pony he is.
Edler Tanev
Guddy Hutton
Good top 4. But not a great top 4. Nucks have never had that #1 dman you need to win a cup. Still searching.
It could be worse: Insert Griffin Reinhart deal. At least Guddy is established. |

Tessier - I really disagree with you on teams trying to get away from a player like Gudbranson, I'm not sure why you'd say that?
There is, and always will be, a place for guys like Gudbranson, who's been compared to a young Robyn Regehr. You can't measure what a guy like Regehr or Willie Mitchell or Matt Greene provided LA during their two Cup wins.
Win puck battles in the corner so your team retrieves the puck and hurt the opposing player while you're doing it, where's the column for that?
What was the consensus on why the Kings lost this year? It was depth on defense, they weren't a difficult team to play against anymore.
Disclaimer....I'm not a fan of this trade given the current state of the Canucks, however, Guddy is only 24 years old, he can grow with a young group post Sedin era. |

This is a repeat of the Bonino - Sutter trade. Vancouver is targeted by GM's to move players with some standout abilities/pedigree for lower cost better players plus picks. |

Don't the majority of the hockey guys on air both TV and radio think Vancouver won this deal?
Its just another crazy over reaction by Vancouver fans where we can trade anybody and if we don't absolutely rip off the other guys we lose.
McCann cant play wing hes way to soft in the corners and outside.
We are probably going to draft Dubois
Hank, Sutter, BO, Dubois, McCann, Vey, Granlund
Why on earth wouldn't we trade McCann for Guddy our top 4 looks like a top 15 top 4 now. If by some fluke we can sign Demers as well and play him with Tryamkin I will be so very happy. We traded from Strength to weakness good deal for both teams other than Florida is set down the middle already and it really makes no sense to me why they would want mccann |

Gotta side with FLA.
I don't dislike EG. He definitely improves the Canucks mediocre D corps.
He would have been a great buy low candidate...
Unfortunately, the price was steep for a player that is a marginal top-4 D, currently.
If you can't get that player at a reasonable price, pass on the trade.
JB's pro scouting so far doesn't give me much hope that Gudbranson will elevate his game to the point he's worth the assets traded. |

Tessier says the Canucks traded a 1st round pick. If we are using that logic, the Canucks got a 3rd overall for a 24th overall and a 2nd round pick.
I'm pretty sure Columbus would laugh at any team picking 24th this year that offered their pick and a 2nd for the 3rd overall. |

Who's the consensus number one pick next summer? If Vancouver gets
it, then they won this trade.
Is that how it works, Edmonton?

REgher, Mitchell and Greene are accessory parts on stacked teams. Canucks want Guddy to be a top 4 and he's barely in a top 4 as the 4th on most teams.
I'm down on it because McCann was more of what the Canucks needed and they gave up a very high 2nd too. There are way more affordable guys than Guddy that the Canucks could have acquired while they build through development. Can;t draft because they keep trading picks.
I just don't see this as a competent move for Benning, and question what he's trying to build. |

You've been so anti Canucks since you left. It's like an ex who can't stop bad mouthing about their former lover because they broke their heart. Your Twitter feed is full of distane for the Canucks. I find it humorous that you've taken such a full turn since your days writing Canucks blogs.
For the record, I don't love this deal, but it's not as bad as most of you are making it sound. Maybe it's the collection of suspect deals Benning has made, but this one really isn't that bad. Obviously the team saw McCann play all year, and didn't think he'd be the player you all are suggesting. |

Didn't McCann get 95% of of his points in his first 15 games then do zero? Love the trade definitely done talking about it great job canucks. Now just make a trade and get a 2nd back perfect |

He was not an accessory part, if you check your facts he played top two with Doughty at times, he played top four with Martinez and Sekera mostly.
You're wrong!
As for the deal, different subject, I'm not a fan of the Canucks half rebuild half compete either. |

You don't think people can see that players at age 19 won't make it?
I'd give up on Yakupov for sure, total bust. |

HockeyBuzz Hotstove: Hotstove: Who Won The Trade Between The Panthers And Canucks? - ToddCordellVAN
It's a pretty useless trade but it has been great watching fans from all over the place come out of the woodwork to argue about it!
Gudbransonn and Mcann are both going to amount to average at best players. Why is this trade being so scrutinized? You kids should be enjoying late spring weather not bickering about this. Times have changed. When I was a youngster we had respect for eachother and liked to play with eachother. |

Awful effort at trolling. Read my book, chapter 7 is especially good. Thank me later. |
