Bring back gomez and gionta - Mapleleafs_91
i actually wouldn't mind gomez back...obviously on a MUCH smaller short term contract...he's another player who thrived under the devils system and i think he would go back to nearly his old numbers if he came back

I would mind. He has been literally garbage. Have you seen him place recently? He blows. How can anybody say they want him back. |

Isn't he Parise's buddy maybe he's going to demand a trade to Minni - Bowkes
Minn cant afford chewing gum...if the cap actually goes down which many people think it might they're gonna need to fill their roster with AHL talent...i STILL think minnesota is really screwed after the parise/suter deal...really if Lou made that same deal he would be burned at the stake...he pretty much was when we signed kovy and he's a much better player than parise...cant really compare him to suter cause of obvious reasons |

Sykora is cheap but hes probably looking for a two year deal perhaps. Especially after seeing Bryce, Marty, and Moose all get multi year deals. I for one hope we sign Petr again, you know what you get from him and he can help chip in offensively. Also would rather have him for possible injury replacement instead of Cam janssen and Krys Barch. |

Parise didn't string us along. Gomez was a traitor and will always be one. |

and thats what's gonna happen to parise...he was much more a player of our system than gomez was...i really hope parise has a long and injury free career...but i wish him the worst luck...i get that he wanted to go play at home but the fact is he showed his loyalty to the club that made him a star and i cant forgive him for that...theres thousands of pro athletes who would love to play in their home state...what makes him so good that he chose that over the organization that built him? |

he strung us along in a sense that he tied the teams hands in regards to making moves during free agency...do you honestly think we didnt have a shot at PA parenteau if we didnt have to sit on our hands waiting for parise to decide? |

He had the right to. That's what makes him so good to choose them. Lou had plenty of time to lock him up and didn't. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and move on. Any of us would have preferred to keep Parise instead of losing him but thats the business |

You almost forget he's a person. As a pro athlete you are owned by your team. You don't get freedom to do what you want in most cases. Free Agency is the little bit of freedom these people get and he got a good opportunity to be where he wants. He kept NJ in the mix the entire time and it came down to getting Suter there or he would have resign in NJ. He wasn't a bastard about it at all. |

He went to our biggest rival, who we play 6 times a year. We play the Wild, what at most twice? |

And if you want to talk about loyalty, then how about Gomez leaving the team he won 2 cups with? Parise for all we did, didn't win anything while he was here. |

What?
Parise took time to make his decision because he was obviously torn between NJ and Minnesota. If you don't think his actions weren't heartfelt, you have a right to believe that, but I don't understand why you would. Unless he pulled off a great acting job, it still took Suter to go to Minnesota before he finally agreed there. Had Suter not agreed to go to Minnesota, I firmly believe Parise will still be a Devil. He had to take his time because it was a decision for the rest of his life. He's not deciding 3-4 years, he's deciding the team he is going to stay with.
Gomez, on the other hand, took off and never looked back. He signed pretty much instantly to New York just because of the money. If there was anyone you should hate more, it would be Gomez hands down. |

I've got this whole shtick about how pro athletes are slaves and the team owners and GM are slave masters and slave traders. It's the modern slavery. |
