Nash doesn't want to play in Buffalo.
Ryan doesn't want to play in Buffalo.
Getzlaf doesn't want to play in Buffalo.
Richards didn't want to play in Buffalo.
Kane doesn't want to play in Buffalo.
Iginla doesn't want to play in Buffalo.
Parise didn't want to play in Buffalo.
Suter didn't want to play in Buffalo.
Weber won't want to play in Buffalo.
and so on, and so on.
Maybe in a few years we'll be a destination for these superstars. But right now we are not. - sambarugh
Wow, you know all those guys? |

They already offered $100 million contracts to Parise and Suter, and were most likely in on Weber as well. Nash's deal looks like pocket change compared to the deals being thrown around right now. - buffalofan19
Nash Isnt Parise in my opinion.Parise is a difference maker and has proven it in the playoffs.Parise to me is the kind of guy Id build a team around.I wouldnt pay Weber that much but Im guessing Pegs was competeing with a package deal for Parise.Just my opinon again but Parise is Buffalo blue coller type of guy as well.Books still officially out on Nash.I think hes built for the Western conference and reminds me of Danny Heatly |

You nailed it. Doesn't mean we can't be a great hockey team. We have to develop through the draft and have good foresight. Just like when we landed Briere. Besides, this high priced free agent crap is over-rated. |

maybe but, not by much
Nash is 28 and has a 7.8 cap hit
averages .43 goals per game and .38 assists per game
Ryan is 25 and has a 5.1 cap hit
averages .41 gpg and .37 apg
I'm not saying Nash isn't a good player, I just prefer Ryan. I prefer his youth and cap hit. Plus, it wouldn't cost as much to get Ryan - RayHatesDomi
Look at who Ryan is playing with compared to Rick Nash, though. If Nash had Ryan Getzlaf, either on his line or not, his numbers would go way up. Nash is a dynamic player that can take over a game by himself. Playing with even slight upgrades as Ennis, Hodgson, Vanek, Pominville, or even Stafford (of course, one or two of these names would probably be gone) Ryan doesn't strike me as that, not yet anyway.
Plus, I would think that Vanek would go the other way as part of the deal if Nash were to come here. The salary is basically a wash. I'd do it simply for something different. |

Getzlaf is the type of mean nasty guy we need here.Who said he wouldnt come to Buffalo ?No im still not trading Pomminvile our most consistant all around winger for him either. |

100% agree on that point.
Perhaps Luc was a bad example.
Pominville straight up for Ryan, then?
I'd actually like to see Buffalo add more scoring without subtracting from their forward ranks much. I think a guy like Pominville, with the right cast around him, can actually help you win in the playoffs. - Powerslave
I would do Pominville and Adam for Ryan
Not only do we get Ryan but, we can move Vanek to rw where I think he's better suited to play anyways
Ryan CoHo Vanek
Foligno Ennis Stafford
or, Iwould like to get Evander Kane
Leino Kane Vanek
Ott Hodgson Pommer
Foligno Ennis Staff

How many Gagne's are there?
How about some actual Sabres news, insight, ACTUAL rumors or, hey Garth, try and get a real source within the Sabres or-gan-iz-a-tion for some ACTUAL Sabres "schmazzle".
Stop with the reporting on other team's players. They have their own bloggers.

Obivously. Just because you didn't study the Ganger branch of Calculus in school doesn't mean you can just poop all over Garth because he happens to be a Gagner mathematics expert. |

You would have to give up too much to get Nash and if you're giving Vanek back as well, you're not really adding scoring to the Sabres |

Damn. I didn't watch any Thrashers games (who did?) and didn't see many Jets games. I thought he was drafted as a center. Oh well, scrap that idea. I'd still like to get him though. I really want to get another LW anyways just because I want to move Vanek to the right side |
