Obviously depends what's coming back. The Leafs still need an upgrade on Bozak, a legit starter in net and IMO a reliable stay at home dman in the top 4.

They would take into account his 30 goal season too. So I'd guess 7goal year = 1.5 30 goal year 4.5 so 2.8

Yeah, that’s almost exactly the same, except for a couple of very small differences. Kulemin is bigger. Stronger. More physical. More defensively responsible. Oh, and even with this brand new contract, has a cap hit that’s a mere ONE THIRD of Gomez’s.

Not a bad deal, hopefully he bounces back offensively and keeps up the good defensive play...if so the deal will be a steal. If not then it's still not bad and only two years anyway.

I wasn't aware that playing within the rules was considered "stealing."

Pretty sure that you'd quickly forget about "stealing" Kane if he played a large role in bringing Ottawa a cup. (<-- Why do I now feel dirty for saying that?)
