You do realize, that Weber KNOWS Nashville can match it, and he could be playing there on a 14 year contract?

If he didnt want to play in Nashville, he would of asked for a trade, not sign an offer sheet that could have him spend the rest of his career in Nashville, if they dont ever trade him.

I think he is fine with playing in Nashville I think the new contract is just so he gets his payday before they fix the cap circumvention in the new CBA

I like the idea of RFA's for players coming out of their entry level contracts so teams don't lose their top prospects but I don't feel the same way about a 28 year being an RFA.

No, what you do is adjust the cap WITHOUT giving teams the "outs". Teams and their GMs need to realize that if they want to sign players for 14 years, there will be a few CBA renegotiations in that time they'll need to account for. Bailing them every time will NOT change the behaviours we keep seeing.
