OK, off to bed!!! Can't do a second all nighter in a row. Stayed around last night, because of the breaking Weber signing. At least if I go to sleep, I can shut my wife's b!tching off for a while. There is always an ample supply of whining and b!tching, when I awaken. It's like having a human alarm clock. Who needs a rooster, when the hen crows louder!!

If he played in Toronto, New York, Philly etc and not Tampa, he'd be an NHL Golden God a la Giroux... Not knocking Tavares but if there's anyone I'd love to see in a Leafs uniform, it's him...

Doesn't matter, we'll never see either one of them playing for us unless it's at the age of 35+ and we're giving up 1st rounders for them...

It wouldn't, but it leaves a whole lot of potential in goal. Two young guys competing for the starting job, Reimer was brilliant before concussion, this year is the year to prove he can bounce back. Bernier was a very high regarded goalie that is looked at to be an above average starter. Struggled the past few seasons, but has also been stuck behind Quick.

3 scenarios can ultimately happen.

1) Bernier excels, and becomes a very good #1, as many expected him to. Reimer becomes a solid back up that can play 20-25 games (or more)
2) Reimer excels, and proves that the 40 games, plus the 5 at the begginning of last season was no fluke, and that he can be a true #1 goalie. Bernier remains the same goalie, a solid backup that once again, can play 20-25 games
3) Both struggle once again, and show that they both are likely destined to be career backups. This leads the Leafs to another lottery pick, likely around 5th once again.

Option 4: We stick with Reimer and Scrivens, keep our young talent, and see if they pan out. Trade away some veterans with larger contracts that are only for this year. Let the kids play, and see how they pan out. Worse case scenario is we draft high in what is expected to be a strong draft. Best case is the kids mesh with whatever veterans are left and gain confidence from management's belief in them and gain a playoff spot.

Not saying don't trade, but trade from strength of a commitment to a plan. Only deviate if something comes that you can't pass up. Burke is in the same position as Gillis, Howson, and any other GMs who have pressure from their players, fan base and media contingent to make a move. I think I could handle 1 more losing seadon if it is part of a plan.
