this is the way i see our forward group as it stands now... remember this could change A TON from 1 trade but right now this is how i see it, if your sticking with this core of forwards.. You have Top 6 wingers in Lupul Kessel JVR and potenitally Kadri who seems way more suited to be top 6 then top 9 espeically the way Carlyle likes his 3rd lines to shut it down... Macarthur is a top six forward, an average one that will put up 40 points for you on the second line. Kulemin has 2nd line potentital but with Carlyles style i would say his defensive style is way more suited for the shutdown line. I see our potential top six centers as Bozak Colborne Grabovski and Connolly as well as Lombardi who has very little shot of cracking top six. The way i see us having sucess is making it like this... our top six consists of Lupul Kessel JVR Kadri Grabovski Macarthur... Thats a top six that lacks one center and lacks physicality in a team that is supposed to be based around forechecking, now you dont need physicality to forecheck but it helps and we could sure use it. So i see either Kadri or JVR playing center (both are capable) and us getting a power forward winger being the best option moving forward... Because theres not many viable power forward centers avalible... and Kadri is a natural center and is good down the middle and JVR has the side speed shot two way game and work ethic to be effective down the middle. Although Biggs or Ashton may take that role in a few years i think getting one of Stewart Colin Wilson Clowe or Malone would be very smart moves by mr Burke... Theres probably other names but there names that arent really on the trading block and would have to be shockers.

Not just Burke, but his confederates in the front office, behind the bench and at the manicurists. This team needs a total clean sweep, a new GM and true consideration for Dallas Eikens to be the teams head coach. He's worked with many of these young players and knows their strengths and weaknesses. The NHL seems to be moving into the realm of new head coaches and less recycling of older ones that had past glory, but time has passed them by.

For poops n giggles though Lets say the leafs trade for say Kovalchuck type player, or our big center, whatever, names are interchangeable obv but point being if we can add a couple pieces and all of a sudden Lu makes more sense I would be alot more interested in a Lu deal as he would become a bigger part of the plan.

Maybe that's what Burke is doing, trying to piece together a good tradeand then follow it up with Lu all in a single week and totally change the complex of the team.

I just want to be excited again past 15 first games......

My hopeful thought is for a labour shutdown, back by Christmas, no moves by the Leafs, picking in the top 3 next fall, 30 million in cap space to grab Getzlaf and Perry.

Him or Kadri. I could care less about bozak at this point. Carlyle and burke seem very keen on JVR at center and i am on the same boat as well because i believe JVR can be that player to make that transition and be better at center than the wing. Why? Because he was never given the proper chance in philly, philly had too many centers, he even stated he was never even looked at once for center in philly because they had too many centers, and since he played center before philly, i would think JVR is fully capable of making the transition and reaching his full potential. As for my thoughts, he is a player who didnt really progress at a high rate on the wing as a 1st Round Guy despite the fact he sniped 20 goals. Alot of centers snipe 20 goals. Maybe he can reach his potential at center? This is probably another reason why burke made this trade. For his size and his two-way scenario.

Burke did make one "bad" trade to give unknown assets to get the 6th leading scorer in the league last year

But he gets me off when he said he'll make that trade again even with Seguin in it .... it's like well i would have draft Reilly first overall yeahh sure Burke keep up the Bullpoop
