I'm one of those Al, and this does nothing to change my opinion. He shipped Carter to LA too. Maybe inter-division.
That's Howsen's problem if he didn't take the best offer. Not like CBJ will be competing with the Wings anytime soon. I suspect Detroit offered minor leaguers or senior citizens. Howsen got some youth and players that will be in the top 6 on CBJ. - djd
The way I hear it Howson approached Nash about Chicago in the last couple of weeks and he said no. |

Doesn't Buff typically pack on the weight in the offseason? If memory serves, I recall Buff coming to Hawks camp heavy and then dropping 30 lbs. by the start of the season. - ArlingtonRob
He'll be fine. I'd still love to have him on my team.

Same.... his size, skating, and shot make up for sub par defense. I'm a big fan. |

I re-ask my question.
And restate my thesis: players not wanting to come here is THE story of the summer for Blackhawk fans. |

Meh. I never really wanted Nash anyways. Correct me if I am wrong, but don't we already have Kane and HossTheBoss on the right side? I'd rather save the money for a guy in the middle like Getzlaf or Roy (if they don't resign) than pay almost 8 milly to another winger |

Agree, Al, unfortunately we are going to see the same movie as last year. Starting Saad in Chicago is a mistake. He should get a year in Rockford under his belt if the Hawks are going to follow the supposed Detroit model. This team is poised for another disappointing season, but on the flip side, maybe then there will be a housecleaning. - hawks2010
I agree with this but both Toews and Kane did not play in the AHL before coming to the big club. Not saying Saad is in that class. Toews had 24G 30A and a +11 in 07-08. Kane had 21G 51A and a -5 in 07-08. Again not saying Saad is in this class but you never know. Would much rather a trade be made for a NHL player at this time but Saad could surprise. 6-2 211 could be what the Hawks need. COULD BE!! Just don't rule him out. He will be 20 the end of October. Has a lot to prove. If he uses his body and can score some he may help the Hawks. Again to the people that can not stand this idea. Might be a good option. Even if Saad does make the Hawks they still need to improve this team at forward and goalie to be a cup contender. Mostly goalie!! |

Nash is a moot point if you believe the stories coming out of Detroit.
Howson wanted him in the East period and the Rangers could have had the best package anyway.
I think San Jose could have offered the Jackets the goalie they need and some others pieces but Howson passed.
Nash was almost a Ranger at the deadline and NY wasn't going to give up.
The biggest value could be Bobby Ryan and he won't be coming to the Hawks either and I think he ends up in Philly. ...And he will fetch a nice return. |

And until Rocky cleans house, it is going to be a running story because former players of this regime seem to be glad to be gone due to the dysfunction of the organization, and I'm sure players throughout the league are hearing about it from these players. When you can't get bottom 6 players (like Winnik) to come play on a team with this much talent, that really says something. To make things worse, McDonough comes out with his ridiculous comments about getting more involved with hockey ops...he has become the "new" Pulford of this organ-I-zation, and this team won't win a thing until he is gone. |

I wish rocky would acknowledge he made a mistake with mcd and sb.... and get some hockey guys in there for you guys . Sadly, many might not see it yet, but the Hawks ship is sinking..... by the time rocky of all people realizes it it may be to late. I remember the talk of 3 or 4 years ago.... it was all about a hawks dynasty and many more cups to come. Not so much anymore. Sorry amigo. |

However , I say unlimited for everyone to use !! These last 2 years of Hawks hockey has been the worst , the compete level has been awful , power play bad , the obvious upper management in fighting , instead of concentrating on winning they argue of who gets credit for the winning , terrible terrible terrible, McD can go, Stan Bo can go. |

how can i view your avatar bigger... Biggest question of the day. It's natural for me to ask the question. You think bowman would like to squeeze a favor out of some team? Maybe two? This offseason has been a gigantic loss..... Boobs. |
