Off Twitter...

Was wondering why Tortorella seemingly had a sense of resolve after playoff elimination. He knew improvements were coming. Just like Q.-Not!

Well if one of the conditions of Q staying here and not bolting to MTL was an improved roster, where is said improved roster?

Was it an improved roster or more say in personnel? If the later, maybe this is the team Q likes and they just went for pie in the sky upgrades.

Just a question, how many of our top guys were injured or taken liberties with, when Car Bomb was in the top six or the line-up for that matter?
- nickmo2699

All of them? The thugs that go do damage are expecting to get hit... Obviously hitting back can remove said player for 5 mins but when has Raffi Torres, Carcillo or any of those other clowns changed their behavior.

Really the only way to win that battle is to smash the poop out of their best players so that you get a banger vs banger match up instead of their bangers banging your top line. Or the thugs cancel each others best lines out and hopefully your secondary players > their secondary players.

Dubinksy, Anisomov, Erixson and a 1st for Nash, 3rd rd pick, and minor league dman (haven't got a name but allows CBS to stay at 50 contracts)
- ikeane

Howson didn't really get any of the Rangers young blue-chip guys.

I'm still shocked that Howson still has a (frank)ing job.

Yes. And I'm sure Holmgren will go all in a get somebody. I still think Weber ends up in Philly with a trade worked out for some of those 1st rounders. I can see Voracek going. Other players, too. So Boston, San Jose and Detroit are some of the other major players out there you know will do something.
- tomcat24

Weber signed an offer sheet and can not be traded for one year. He's either playing for Philly (Nashville doesn't match, they get 4 #1s) or Nashville (Philly gets nothing). Once the offer sheet is signed, the player can no longer be traded and it's in Nashville's court as to what they do with him.

What turns you off about Stanton?
- EKolb13

I didn't see any outstanding qualities in his play. He didn't seem particularly good at offense, and wasn't particularly solid in his own end. Nothing I saw made me think he was NHL material now or in the future.

What he's talking about is the possibility of Nashville trading some of those first round picks that they would receive from the Weber offer sheet back to Philadelphia for players.

He isn't talking about Nashville trading Weber to Philadelphia. Look a little closer.

It's the other way around. Stanton is a bit more solid in his own end and doesn't have any offensive upside. He does have a little physical play to his game, but isn't going to light people up like Seabrook.

He's a possible solid stay at home 7th defenseman in the NHL.

Ah, all these dominos seemingly beginning to fall. It's going to be exciting for all those fans whose teams are going to challenge for the '13 cup. Well, except here.

Can't get a fair return in this case...Columbus got more than Gillis will get is my guess....Quite a bit more.

Howson screwed the pooch whne he went public with Nash asking for a trade...
