So does Hayes. For a big guy, he doesn't use his size and strength like he should.

Just a question, how many of our top guys were injured or taken liberties with, when Car Bomb was in the top six or the line-up for that matter?

How many injuries did the Hawks really sustain last year? Sharp got slashed and broke his wrist..that's #1. Toews also got slashed (2) and then jumped (3). Outside of those and the Hossa hit, you have Montador and Hammer's concussions. I really only look at the Sharks/Toews incident and the Hossa injury as the big ones. The slashes could've happened at any time.

Morin was billed as a natural finisher from what I remember, got his bell rung, and looks like he has had to make some adjustments playing against men. My biggest issue with him was how he was skating with his head down (not dissimilar to Kruger) and opening himself up to get railed. If his hands are half as good as advertised he should be able to nudge out a space @ LW esp with revolving door there.
- fattybeef

Morin has NHL talent, the question is what you broght up....His ability to be more prepared when he gets clobbered. Not the best skater but more a problem with not being aware, because he isn't afraid.

Somewhat like Kruger in that respect and if they don't learn both will have their own couch in the dark room.

I wouldn't discount Morin for this season but Shaw will be in the top six or on 3rd line so we will see....

That's Q-speak!

I love watching coach Q interviews, if you ever want to learn how to say a lot without revealing anything just watch one.

I'm sure other guys have used the terminology "should get looks." Would you prefer I used something else, like "should get a cup of coffee?"

In other news, just got a twitter text from Chris Kuc who retweeted from Dreger "Rick Nash trade to NY Rangers in process now. Details to follow."

Hopefully this move is the "Exlax" GM's need to cure their trade and free agent "constipation."

And Dempster to Atlanta for (apparently) some terrific pitching prospects, according to Sassone.

Maybe Rocky can trade McD back to the Cubs for Epstein.

The Hawks had about the least amount of injuries over the first three months of the season of any time that I can remember.

In January things turned but overall they were not among league leaders in man games lost.

Carcillo and the toughest man on earth John Scott, neither prevent concussions from happening.

You forgot about Kruger getting steamrolled by Engelland.

That's fine cuz unlike Rocky up through now, Tom will not allow biz-suits/bean-counters interfering with baseball ops.

EDIT: On the Demp trade, MLB.com writer thinks it could be Delgado on the way back.

EDIT^2: Garza for Zach Lee+ being discussed between CHC and LAD.

Yeah, that one slipped through the cracks. But I think someone dropped the gloves right after...Scott, maybe?

Hopefully some things will start happening. When is the 7 day period ending for the Preds to match the offer sheet? That plus Nash and soon Doan will get things rolling. You now Pitt, Boston, and maybe Wash will do stuff to match Philly and the Rangers. Plus Detroit and San Jose will definitely do stuff. We still have some pieces that can get attention of other teams

It was Scott, and he took an instigator penalty to go with it. I think that's the only time he's taken an instigator penalty while with the Hawks.

As I recall, Scott was ON THE ICE when it happened - nice deterrent value there.

Don't recall any retailiation after, may be wrong about that.

So if Nashville matches the Weber offer, it seems like they have to go all in Bobby Ryan after missing on Nash and Weber (if they do miss on him)

Off Twitter...

Was wondering why Tortorella seemingly had a sense of resolve after playoff elimination. He knew improvements were coming. Just like Q.-Not!

And IIRC the Pens scored the GWG on the ensuing power play.

It wasn't the GWG, but rather the first goal of the game.

Yes. And I'm sure Holmgren will go all in a get somebody. I still think Weber ends up in Philly with a trade worked out for some of those 1st rounders. I can see Voracek going. Other players, too. So Boston, San Jose and Detroit are some of the other major players out there you know will do something.
