So were Stan and John M. There or not? I know they weren't introduced but I know Scotty Bowman was there and he wasn't introduced
- tomcat24

Not sure but they decided to not introduce any of the upper mgt. people.

The event was held in a different room ...Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

I had to explain to my wife they were "Q"-ing Joel, not booing, as we watched on TV. No way that many people would be booing him in the convention fanbase. Some here dislike him, but the average fan loves the coach who they won the Cup under. Kitchen and Crawford got a lot of cheers. I really didn't hear anyone getting booed, at least not from the TV.

First of all, the convention draws the happy fans...meatballs if you will...I would expect the most upbeat to make the effort to attend.

Second, if the crowd is going to cheer all the players, I would expect them to also cheer the coach.

Regardless of how posters to this site feel, a large majority of fans making the effort to attend the convention are there because they still luv THIS club and it's players...regardless of last years playoff performance.

Those that are unhappy with the results, or pissed at the direction the club is taking, will most likely blow off the convention.

Attendance will drop over time if the team continues to be mediocre going forward.

Al...

It was mentioned earlier that Saad is not in attendance. This surprises me, since I thought the organization would be promoting him as the future.

Any thoughts on the matter?

Unfair to those of us here: my guess is we all "still luv this club".

We just have no lives in the real world.

Yeah I found it odd, too, that Saad wasn't there. In the other conventions didn't they also introduce the top prospects? They did do a lot of different things this year with the new room. I don't think a lot of the players liked doing the high fives coming out. They had weird looks on their faces

C'mon...you know what I'm saying.

Convention goers are meatballs...Hawks can do no wrong types...to much worshiping, not enough critical thought.

The opposite might be said for those of us here....too much critical thought...

As for having no lives....

no comment..

At least too much critical typing. As to whether thought is involved or not...

Well played...

I'd swear...if the expectations of some commenters here actually happen, the Hawks will finish 14th in the west with 76 points.

I don't think things will be that bad.

I expect the middle of the road, fighting for a 6-8 seed. I think the roster is better than that, but have no faith in the current coaching staff to fix the special teams. That is what I find so frustrating. Q seems set in his juggling ways and not willing to fix what we all see as wrong.

You must have government provided internet access. Because you have Zero ability to reason or follow any logic. I will leave it at that for fear of becoming dumber trying to slow it down any more for you.
- TrueGrit

Want to explain? You are already dumb. Not sure how you could get dumber. Not sure what you are arguing. Is it Anti, MJ or the great one? This ought to be good!

I honestly think this roster on paper is as good as any in the league, especially if we find a way to fill a couple holes before/during the season. Barring any major injuries like last season (Toews, Sharp, Montador, etc.), I think we still have as good of a shot as anyone.

Out of pure boredom I watched a couple of the games I recorded on DVR over the span of this past season & this team is pretty dang good when they want to be.

What other team's roster would you guys take over the current one we have?

I don't think so either. However, I do think the general expectations could be higher than a 6 or 8 seed if management would have filled some obvious holes in the lineup. Rain or shine I'm behind the Indian head but we can't expect this core to make it over the hump without some of the critical role players we're missing, imo.

That's the key, When they want to be. This goes back to even the Cup year. I can only count a handful of 60 minute games going back to even before 2009-2010. Its just they had so much depth to overcome it. I don't think all that goes on coach Q

It's still really early. One day all the dominoes will fall and there will be a lot of movement. I think we might finally see stuff happen with the Weber deal and Doan finally signing. I still expect Detroit and San Jose to do stuff to improve. I aalso go with Pitt, Philly, LA and probably the Blues

Meh x3

Philly has worse goaltending than we do. LA got hot at the right time and is far less talented. New York is just meh with a great tender

Even with Pit losing Staal? Boston is overrated IMO and STL doesn't have nearly as much talent compared to the Hawks. I guess I'm bias but I just don't see it

Here is where you and I disagree. I put that square on Q's shoulders. IMO, he's created an environment where less than full effort is accceptable, or at least there are no reprecussions for the core when they're coasting.

I actually don't think the NYR are all that, definitely think even last years team beats them in a 7 game series. I think philly is a toss up, but w/Weber then definitely. And I would trade LA's for ours in a second with the caveat that we get to keep toews and they can keep carter

And we were eliminated by the COYOTES. Think about that for a second.

We got eliminated by Mike "The Flop" Smith. You could have the Ice Hogs in front of him and we still probably would have lost
