For a guy that didn't want to play out east.....
After visiting with the Rangers brass in NY today Coyotes Captain Shane Doan will make his 2nd visit of free agency Saturday in Philadelphia -- John Gambadoro (@Gambo620) - moylander
If the flyers add Doan AND Weber they shoulld just give them the Cup. It won't even matter how bad Bryz was or the couple players like Voracek they might lose. Meanwhile we add Brookbank to the softest core in the league. Great |

Amen.
It seems like there's just a staggering level of negativity on these boards lately, and fine, if people want to feel that way, nobody is stopping you. But it seems like people who aren't quite ready to throw in the towel yet until the season starts are apologists? - hawkfan79

Voice of reason?
Perhaps to some extent, I'm just not ready to completely trash the organization. I'm not thrilled with what I've seen the last few years, but I'm not freaking out either. I'm just a fan who only controls my own wallet.
Explaining how it should be?
Alot of guys are pissed off about the club at this point, but I don't recall forcing my opinions on anyone...I simply offer them. I disagree with some of the things I read...like all of us.
My opinion more valuable than others?
Actually, I keep most of my opinions to myself. I'm just not ready to completely dump on the organization. I don't know enough about the game, and I centainly know close to nothing about being a bench coach. It just seems over the top to completely destroy Q when his career is examined. It may be time for Q to move on, that's not my decision.
I find it aggravating when fans complain about a coach who been involved in the NHL for 30 plus years. - ArlingtonRob
It is time for Q to move on. 30 years is plenty long enough, let someone else have a turn already. For the love of God, please move on. |

I know.
Kane and Toews are the faces of this franchise. They're practically glued together for all marketing purposes and we all know how important marketing is to this organization. Lately, it seems like it's more important than the actual product on the ice.
Leaving Kane off a gigantic banner in front of a huge group of fans at the first public appearance following Kane's partying episode... you don't think that is sending a message? It absolutely is.
This is the same organization that played the song "With or Without You" during the home opener Stanley Cup presentation. You remember the scene...the cup winning roster was being cheered by the fans... WITHOUT several key members of that cup winning team present because they had been traded away. With or without you. Not exactly subtle. - AceRatbang

1. Rocky didn't sell the club to a hedge fund manager.
2. Hossa didn't retire due to head injury.
3. Kane didn't need an intervention...yet.
4. Seabrook didn't demand a trade.
5. Toews didn't lose a finger filleting a walleye.
That's the best I can do.
But thank goodness we're not Nashville... |

Southern...
The main problem I have with this offseason...so far, because it's not over...is the unfulfilled need at 2C. That's the one position that continues to remain a big problem in my eyes. Obviously, if whatever solution the Hawks attempt works...I'll shut the hell up. Until then I worry.
If Crawford rebounds I'll be pleased, but goal still concerns me also.
Would have luved a big dude like Carkner on the blueline, but if nothing changes I can live with our D corps...heck, I'll have no choice.
In essence, the Hawks have remained largely static, and if the season is played they should be a good club. Time will tell how good, but I'm certainly NOT expecting disaster (injuries not included).
And unlike some, I'm not rooting for failure just so RW in provoked into cleaning house. |

I think Brookbank will fill that roll fine..IMHO better than Carkner , Brookbank is not as good of a fighter as Carkner but brookbank is a much better skater and will likely be used in more situations than carkner would....i think it all rides on Crawford this year....plain and simple. |

If Crawford has a good year, the Hawks will be good. If they can find an answer at 2C we'll all be happy. Avoid the damn injury bug!!

Called it yesterday.
Losers. - Return of the Roar
Wow the spinmeisters aka the blackhawks brass were at it again last night.
No Stanbum or McCub or any other of the Hawks front office. And as mentioned no Saad or Oduya...gee we can only wonder what kind of response the introduction of Gauthier would have gotten? LOL.
And the spin control by CTL was frankin' hilarious as well. Tracey Myers said they were all saying Q and not booooinngg - gee sounded like Boos w/ a B to me. Kitch as well got a nice round of Qs as well as Crawford.
The video tribute they showed for last season pumped the tires on the fact that the Hawks have had 190 consecutive sellouts and then later in it the players were each shown talking about how great the fans were that come to the UC every night while pictures of fans having a great time/ eating food/ buying product were shown in the background...total BS. Yeah we haven't improved our team at all this summer and the front office and coaching staff are a joke, but come down to the UC for a great time.
I think that was the shortest opening speech by Toews given to date. |

Scorers,
There are plenty of other hawks bloggers that are way more accurate than JJ.... for instance they predict toews and Kane will score 90 points each, Keith will win the Norris again, and the hawks will win many more Stanley Cups in the next few seasons. Go read CI or Rogers for that kind of accuracy. No one is forcing you to be a hit on JJs inaccurate blog.
Edit.... found it.... you can go here for more accurate hawks info....

That's another issue I have with Q. Would it kill him to put Sharp back at C? I'm not saying this is the solution, but it has to be a better options than Kruger at this point in time. |
