Would the Canucks trade him to a rival?
- Ranger71

Not in the same division so I'd say yes if the deal was enticing. Otherwise, if they took that stance, might as only trade with the opposite conference exclusively. Not practical.

Marleau for Luongo I would do it
- Alexzanki

VAN wouldn't. Thornton for Luongo, now we're talking. But he's the face of SJ so that's a no-go.

Thats fine. I nvr said he was. I also said that Tor doesnt have anything to offer that LA would make LA consider moving him to Tor.

A lot of people have been saying all along that this whole saga was just a PR stunt from Howson to keep his job. Him basically saying I'm doing everything in my power to keep my job.. I didn't believe that at all, and I swallowed the pill that Nasher was going to get traded. The longer this draws out the more I start to convince myself that maybe he won't go. I dont know what to think anymore, its a shame I'm getting mind franked like this. Its really hard on one's emotions.

If you go to the jackets website, or even listen to the comments from their coaches its obvious they have moved on... this just muddys the water.

Keep him. He's not worth a top 6 forward, a top prospect and a first.

Give me Thomas, give me ANYONE and I guarentee atleast 10 more wins then last year. Now, thats not saying a lot but that says a lot.

If I was Howson, I'd be calling Hasek if I had to.

relax guys, nash is going to the nucks. but only after luongo is traded for clowe and havlat. and ballard will definitely be in the deal because he is such a hot commodity. almost as sought after as the legendary komisarek.

haven't heard any teams saying they're out today?

Posted on July 18th, 2012 at 5:15 pm:
According to Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area, the Blue Jackets and Sharks have not had talks about Rick Nash in “months.”

The Blue Jackets reportedly keep insisting that Logan Couture be part of the deal and the Sharks won’t move him.

Update at 6:34PM: James Murphy writes at ESPN.com that the Bruins are no longer in the running for Nash and that the players being asked for are a combination of David Krejci, Milan Lucic and Dougie Hamilton.

If I could make a prediction about Nash. This thing will drag out until the new CBA is agreed upon. The salary cap will be lowered, forcing what few teams remain to drop out of the running for him. The Rangers will then be the only team left with any cap room to use, since they have just over $15 million of cap space and only MDZ and Stralman to resign.

Nash will somehow force Howson to trade him and the Rangers will get Nash for a worse package then what Ottawa got a few years ago for Dany Heatley. Think Dubinsky and a 5th round pick.

You got to understand Howson has a gun pointed at his back from an ownership group that wants to win now....... I don't blame him for not pulling the trigger on the first blatant trade.

VAN would easily take that deal. are you insane? 2 years at 6.9M vs luongo's dipietro-esque contract? not to mention marleau would be a great veteran presence in the dressing room, and can pitch in 30 goals. i really hope not all nucks fans think the same way you do.

See I dont support that. I dont think the ownership has issue with Howson. Howson got the A okay last year when he should of been fired. If all McConnell and Priest cared about was winning then they would of fired the coaches and gm last year and stared over. They've invested too much into SAVING Howson's job at this point to pressure him out.

I haven't seen this much of a debacle since Peter Forsberg!

Nash is so overhyped it's unreal. He's very talented no doubt but he's not in the upper echelon of elite players.

How is Nash supposed to stay with the team after all that has happened? I don't know but they way Howson threw him under the bus earlier this season really doesn't paint a pretty picture for the organization and their captain.

On the flip side, Nash signed his contract - now honor it you female dog.
