Here's a question: who would be the captain of each team? - NickTheKid87
That's a great one.
Obviously, Clarke would captain Manitoba. I go with Barber to captain Ontario, Gagne for Quebec, van Impe for Saskatchewan, Ronnie Sutter for Alberta, Bridgman for BC, Howe for USA, Foppa for Sweden, Timonen for Finland, Zhamnov for Russia and Jagr for the Czechs.
Too bad we have to miss out on the talents of the "Latvian Laser" Oskars Bartulis and the "Norwegian Hammer" OK Tollefsen in this tourney. - NickTheKid87
Tollefson has Thoreson to keep him company....just need a couple more guys
Bill you must have no time on your hands. But I loved it.
As much as I want to root for team USA, I think Quebec takes it...
On a side note, anyone watch the History of the Flyers on NHL network last night? Made me so emotional... So many things to be proud of... Just a reminder that all of us are connect by such a wonderful orginization. It almost breaks the heart to see how close we have come so many times without taking the cup home... From the loss to the Oilers, twice, to the unbeaten streak, to the 87 team, to the 97 team, to Primeau's overtime winner, to game 7 vs tampa, and even though it was made before this, the 2010 miracle team. Such agony, and yet so much to be proud of.

I agree with everyone except Gags.. I think Briere would get the nod. Maybe even Bernie!

Very possible, but as it stand right now... - Jsaquella
Obviously too early to make that statement, but i can hope. I think Roo's competitive nature is enough to take his name to the rafters if his career continues down this path. Add his talent to that and I'm thinking it's only a matter of time.

Ontario looks like it could be the biggest grounds for debate with Lindros, Barber and Pronger all having been captains.

I used a combination of time with team, emotional impact the player had on the fanbase and if they had been a past captain. I would have said Desjardins, but he was not overly enthused wearing the C

Hell.. he is one of how many Flyers to pot 90+ points? Right there he has put his name in with a pretty good group.

I think that had something to do with the way he got it too...

I gave Barber the nod for longevity and being in the HHOF, even though Pronger will certainly be in one day, and I think Lindros has a good chance to get in at some point.

Come on boys. Let's get it done this year! - RooNosHockey
I watched that last night too. Is there/has there ever been an owner that is more committed to his team and winning than Ed Snider?

I was thinking that but considering it would only be a tournament, I think he would accept it. If it was season long, I would've picked somone else.

I feel that if Bure got in than Lindros will have to get in at some point too. The numbers are there.

Circumstances around how he ended up being captain were also probably not to his taste. Valid point.

Not in Philly. Has there ever been an expansion team that has done so well historically? I think other then Montreal, the Flyers have the best winning percentage in the whole league.
