I bet there was a little nudge by Snider to get a goalie last year though. Maybe just a small, elbow, wink, nod - get me a damn goalie kind of message.

That's where the "(usually)" came in.

I would assert that the guy who writes the checks has control.
- Daman

You could be wrong. The checks could be writen by the C.F.O. not the C.O.O.

Would you agree that whatever advantage the Flyers had at home disappeared with this new building?

the new building was and is horrible..they lost all their advantage of the fans on top of the ice. I was not happy with my seat placement and most season ticket holders were not happy

If you ever worked for a corporation you would know that a C.O.O. may have control of the company, but they do not get involved in the day to day operations. Homer has control of this teams roster moves. Snider has veto power. But like I said, I doubt every single hockey move goes through Snider.
- RooNosHockey

A Hockey team is not run the same as a Corporation. Guaranteed that Peter Luuko, and to a lesser extent Snider, are involved in the day to day operations. Holmgren does not have complete control of the Hockey team. He has superiors he has to report to, and get approval to make moves involving the team. Especially when it involves a large sum of money, or in dealing top players on the team.

Guaranteed that the signing of Bryzgalov, as well as the Richards and Carter trades had to be approved by Luuko and Snider.

I remember those old games being so loud and the Flyers being almost invincible at home. Now i'd rather they play on the road. So that's what it was huh the seat placement? I just figured the higher ticket prices attracted more of the wine and cheese crowd. One thing I've noticed is the chatter going on during games. I'd say 70% of the crowd is not watching the game and reacting when something big happens, which is sad. That's just my opinion tho and I only go to 1 or 2 games a year anymore.

I wouldn't. When Hatcher shoved Crosby to the ground, the entertainment value from that moment is worth 10 Carle seasons.

I noticed that watching the Devils series this year...it seemed like no one cared. Disgusting if you ask me. I live in queens and when the flyers play the isalnders I go. The flyers fans up here are way louder in fact we take over the arena! I went to a few home games last year and it was a snooze fest....utterly disgusting.

Just me but I'd rather the Flyers not have home ice through the playoffs anymore. maybe in 10 years we'll get a real building again who knows.
