I wonder how people will react if Hemsky puts up 70+ points and Gagner puts up 60+ points this year?
Heads would explode. - robin_steele264
well gagner is believable but if hemsky put up 70+ points that would be insane cuz it would most likely be in somewhere around 38.7 games sooo ya that would boggle me |

Try reading it. Nash would agree with the deal if it meant he gets moved to the Rangers in the end. Three-team deals happen often. - Maxbone
Do they? Do you remember the last one?
And Nash accepting the trade isn't even what makes this ridiculous. |

i know i was just stressing the point that if he had an actual first line centre he would have a lot higher numbers than 80 points... which in itself is still good |

Edm:mdz,dubi,1st and 2nd rounder
NYR:hall,paarj(can't spell) ,2nd rounder - volcom955
Dream on! Not even close to a deal I'd do. |

Richard Cloutier: Could the Oilers Deal for Rick Nash? - Maxbone
No way if I'm the Oilers do I deal Hemsky and Gagner for a dman in return. I'd do Hemsky and Paajarvi plus a prospect and pick to get Nash if he would come here. That would give you:
Hall-RNH-Ebs
Nsh-Gags-Yakupov
Smyth-Horcs-Jones
I think that there is one of the top 3 best forward corps in the league. The D will work it self out. There are 11 NHL Dmen competeing for 7 spots. Use those assets to trade if needed. |

Personally, I wish they would change the rules to that if you offer sheeted a person, you had the length of the contract to determine when you wanted to take the draft picks. That would make it quite interesting and would allow teams more flexibility to move players. So if you offered sheeted a player to a 10 year contract at max compensation, the team would have 10 years to decide when to use those 4 picks. - dgutzman
For what it's worth, I really like that idea. Same idea as where Jersey has 3 years to forfeit a 1st. This would maybe make offer sheets more common, as I believe they should be. |

Edmonton...or any Canadian team for that matter are not on his list of teams, so no package would get it done. If Howson can't land a deal for Nash...a 3-way deal would be even more difficult.
Having said that, why would any big market team want an over-hyped player who's too much of a nancyboy to play in a big market?
The best players thrive in the spotlight under pressure...you don't want someone who's trying to avoid it. |

I don't get the comment about the pressure. Nash would help a team like the Rangers who lack the firepower upfront. |

Keep yancy out of this.
I think a 3 way could work because a team like the Rags is giving up defense, but does CBJ need defense? No, so now you look at a team who has offense. |

not even remotely close...
Add RNH and a 1st and you're getting in Howson's wheelhouse...
EDIT: and I'm not saying that's reasonable, I'm saying that's the price... - Big_Lightnin
If that's really Howsons asking price, than I hope Nash enjoys his time off. Oilers wouldn't do RNH for Nash straight up, much less adding a first. Howson is a retard. |

Depends on what we're giving up in said deal. I'm dead against moving Gagner unless we have another center of equal or greater skill to replace him.
Look how long it's taken Tambellini to address the blueline. I don't want to see him dither to replace Gagner. |

Well in all honesty replacing Gagner won't be hard, we don't need to get a top end 2C. We have the wingers to make up for a weaker 2nd line center, especially if it means getting a good young d-man out of new york.
I could live with
RNH
Horcoff
Belanger

I don't want Nash anyways. Not sure why Edmonton or NYR do this deal.
EDIT: and I don't think Staal is a guy that puts us over the top. |

You could? That looks (frank)ing awful to me. Puts a poopload of burden on a 19 year old, as no pivots beneath him can really do much offensively. Plays literally die on the sticks of Horcoff and Belanger. |

I think Del Zotto would be a better long term fit. Staal will jump ship to Carolina in a couple of seasons. |
