Tarnasky has put on some more muscle since those videos. He has good reach.
He will prove to be a better fighter than we think.
When he was in the NHL, he was getting pulled into fights because he is a good hitter.....82 hits in 45 games with Tampa in 08-09 and 77 hits in 31 games in 09-10.

Mccormick 67 hits in 50 games and only 56 PIM last year and 4 points; 108 hits in 81 games and 142 PIM with 20 points in his contract year 10-11.....Yeah, I don't think we like the way that contract turned out...he needs to fight for his life on this team.....I would not be sorry to see him go in a package to get a better center

By the way, Porter in 35 games last year had 17 minutes, 7 points and 36 hits;
In 10-11, Porter played 74 games with 25 points, 27 PIM, 126 hits.

Yeah, so I think that McCormick (and Ellis) need to be pushed.

I also think that Gerbe is moving in one of these deals that is brewing, perhaps with McCormick.

- RicoMartin

I agree. If McCormick puts in the same production next season as last season they need to put him through waivers and send him to Rochester. I do understand that he wasn't able to fight at times because of concussion issues. However, we need at least a little offense from him.

Tarnasky brings some more sandpaper to the team.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnwM7yPIv98

Both Porter and Tarnasky are an upgrade over McCormick and Ellis and will push these guys for their jobs. Gerbe as well.

Rumour has it that St. Louis and Edmonton don't want to go to arbitration with Oshie and Gagner and both might be willing to move them for the right deal.

Gerbe and Leopold for Oshie and a 4th round pick anyone?

- RicoMartin

I'd rather have Berglund then Oshie.

Honest question....If Gerbe and McCormick are included in the same deal, what the hell would the return be? A 7th rounder?

That is what good college players who are UFA's command. (See Matt Read).
Brian Flynn isn't ready to make that immediate jump to the NHL though.

- Jacob582

Of this I am aware.....it just surprised me a little at the dollar amount. These kind of signings were so foreign to the Sabres pre-pegula. Again nice to see we will now compete for the top college free agent talent.

haha! no beer thrown at you yet? I was at a game in Boston once and some guy pegged a guy in the back with a beer. the guy who got hit was probably one of the only guys in the arena with a senators jersey. some of those b's fans are insane

I know a few have spoken highly of Brian Flynn around, I think homie mayve been one. Anyways good was he at Maine because the Sabres gave him 1.025mil for his one yr deal. He only trails Zemgus on the Amerk payroll. They definitely paid to get him, makes me think he was in some demand.
- twistedwrister9

Ide be more excited about Varone than Flynn. 2 years younger and alot more proven in the AHL. But honestly theyre both behind Girgensons, Grigorenko, Cattenacci and Sundher in center depth.

Yeah, you're right. We would not have signed a Brian Flynn if this was pre-pegula. And.....we wouldn't be talking about sending players on a one way deal to Rochester as an option either (Morrisonn, McCormick?, Pardy?).

Anyone hear anything about whether or not the Sabres were going to offer up a contract to either Freddie Roy or Jamie Wise?

Yep. Sounds pretty typical. Woman = free things.

Used to drive me crazy going to the bar with my some of my female friends.

I'd spend 20 bucks to get a partial buzz on and they'd get sloshy without spending a dime. All they had to do was stand there and look hot.

Yes, Rochester has tons of forwards right now if the start of the NHL season is delayed from a lockout. Here's what we would be looking at for the start of the Amerks season:

CENTER: Z, Hodgson (R), Varone (L), Adam (L), Porter(L), Sundher(L), Schofield (L), Tarnasky (L)
LW: Foligno, Lagace, Boychuk, Rankin
RW: Mancari, Flynn, Tropp, Szydlowski, Parker

Who goes to the ECHL?
