this is absolutely stupid.
i'm so tired of everyone assuming that any of our new meat-heads are just gonna jump Lucic because of sh'it he did last year while they were playing on different teams.

Boston- buffalo is starting look as if it has the making of being quite a series this coming season. Should be a fun/physical affair. It'll b nice this year to not look like a bunch of pansies to the entire league. |

Tarnasky and Porter to the AHL - Jawallstar1
Tarnasky brings some more sandpaper to the team.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnwM7yPIv98
Both Porter and Tarnasky are an upgrade over McCormick and Ellis and will push these guys for their jobs. Gerbe as well.
Rumour has it that St. Louis and Edmonton don't want to go to arbitration with Oshie and Gagner and both might be willing to move them for the right deal.
Gerbe and Leopold for Oshie and a 4th round pick anyone?

Their combined cap would be 4.5 million, which I'm assuming is slightly more than what Oshie is going to get in arbitration. So why give him up? |

Take out the 4th and replace Leo for Sekera or a 2nd. |

How is Tarnasky an upgrade over McCormick? He has not been in the NHL for three seasons. |

Sabres fans are the exact opposite of Leafs fans, we severly under rate our players. No one would claim TJ Brennan, Derek Roy had no trade value, Andrej Sekera has no market, Tyler Myers is a bust, Ryan Miller is an average goalie playing on a strong defensive team, yet all of our defensman suck anyways. Tyler Ennis is over rated according to some people on here. It's really getting out of hand. - sbroads24
You are so right and no one here would re-sign Connolly, but the Leafs game him twice as much as I would have given him when they gave him a 2 year deal at $4.75 million...... |

Did the Sabres ever sign or qualify Alex Biega? Anyone that went to development camp see him there? Was just wondering as he signed his original rookie deal in May 2010, which should've put him up for a new deal this summer. |

Yeah - although I have to be honest - if on his first shift against Boston, Scott 'Webered' Lucics head over and over into the glass until he became unconscious - I would immediately get up from my seat and go buy his jersey from the Sabres store. |

Did McCormick really play in the NHL last year? I must have missed his magic act after he got that nice contract from Reiger....nothing wong with having a bunch of forward that can come up and replace the guys that think they can go through the motions.
Anyway, expect a couple of more signings and a couple of 2 or 3 for 1 deals still to come before the season starts. |

...capgeek has Biega and Schiestel as RFAs. I was wondering about Schiestel as well. Anyone have any insight into whether or not the Sabres bothered qualifying either. The other two RFAs from Rochester beat feet and went overseas (Persson & Szczechura). You wouldn't think they'd be qualified considering McNabb to start there and Pysyk and Gauthier-Leduc coming in. |

I know a few have spoken highly of Brian Flynn around, I think homie mayve been one. Anyways good was he at Maine because the Sabres gave him 1.025mil for his one yr deal. He only trails Zemgus on the Amerk payroll. They definitely paid to get him, makes me think he was in some demand. |

It was reported earlier that Regier was going to qualify ALL their RFA's.
I think they would have become UFA if they weren't qualified. |

That is what good college players who are UFA's command. (See Matt Read).
Brian Flynn isn't ready to make that immediate jump to the NHL though. |

am i the only one that noticed that tarnasky was pretty badly beaten in both those fights? - jjr_1988
Tarnasky has put on some more muscle since those videos. He has good reach.
He will prove to be a better fighter than we think.
When he was in the NHL, he was getting pulled into fights because he is a good hitter.....82 hits in 45 games with Tampa in 08-09 and 77 hits in 31 games in 09-10.
Mccormick 67 hits in 50 games and only 56 PIM last year and 4 points; 108 hits in 81 games and 142 PIM with 20 points in his contract year 10-11.....Yeah, I don't think we like the way that contract turned out...he needs to fight for his life on this team.....I would not be sorry to see him go in a package to get a better center
By the way, Porter in 35 games last year had 17 minutes, 7 points and 36 hits;
In 10-11, Porter played 74 games with 25 points, 27 PIM, 126 hits.
Yeah, so I think that McCormick (and Ellis) need to be pushed.
I also think that Gerbe is moving in one of these deals that is brewing, perhaps with McCormick. |
