again stats dont mean everything. stafford pretty much scores a hattrick or doesnt exist. doan is a steady contributer and also actually hits and plays defense when he isnt scoring.

I thought Doan was a better PKer?? he only averaged 52 seconds a game and had 69 total minutes last year... He did average 3:11 per game on the PP though.
It's been 3 years since he signed his first contract. He must clear waivers.
3 years or 160 games, whichever comes first. So even though he's only played 11 games, he lost his waiver exemption July 1st. - keptupl8
Waiver rules are pretty interesting, I just assumed a 1-way contract locked a player into waivers. Did a little research and found the NHL waiver rules chart, and yep, he needs to pass through waivers like you said since he signed his entry level at 20 y/o.
Again, pretty crowded blue line and we just added another to it.....

A one way deal may prevent him from getting picked up on waivers though. A team may be less likely to take a chance on him if their owner can't afford to bury the contract in the minors. Not all of them will.
