Your only hope is how the deal is structured with the bonuses and whether or not the Preds Owner feels he can pay that poop out.

Yes so exclude mr chukney as the Preds are not going to get a top 5 pick from the flyers.
- Oilhab

i don't think it's fair value but i think the Preds should let him go anyway

No. Over payment of a 35+ player that the habs will be stuck with on their cap for the lenght of the deal.

IT'S COMING!

Clearly you haven't been following the writings of Ek. Doan is the one who can save the franchise in Phoenix.

maybe but my point was that he hasn't proven it. he's anchored a D with another #1 guy and played in front of one of the game's best goalies and the Preds still dont do poop in the playoffs. i think in Philly he can be the missing piece but Nashville, even with him, is far, far away from a Cup because if you look at past Cup winners/partcipants, the one common thread is staggering offensive depth. so i think from a hockey satandpoint, Nashville should walk away and take those picks.
- DoubleDown

I dont believe he has either yet. However on a Philly team with much more offensive capabilities and if Bryz plays the way that he actually can, then he can indeed be the Flyers missing piece as you said.

They could end up picking near the bottom even with Weber, so it doesn't matter
- Oilhab

Thanks mr burke, sure the other 4 1st rounders in 4 years could never matter, because late 1st rounders have never manufactured into anything other than 4th line players, even in strong draft years.

It is possible to draft great players late in the 1st round.

I agree the Preds should walk away. All those picks in the first round should eventually help them.

The fact that he signed the offer sheet shows he doesn't want to be there anyway.

The scary part about this for them is the fact they are in Nashville, will they be competitive enough without Weber and Suter long enough to last in Nashville until those draft picks are able to help the team? Or will the fans see/take it as another reason to not bother to go see games?

I don't recall you asking for a unique take on the situation.

How could there be a unique situation on something as cut and dry as an offer sheet?

Ok fine, seven days from now a metorite is going to strike the earth causing a dust cloud that blocks out the sun for 14 years. Without the Sun the earth is plunged into an ice age. But Vampires also emerge from the sahdows and decide it is their time to rule the earth.
Skating becomes the predominate mode of transportation and the Vampires Lords have outlawed Hockey. So the remaining players who survived the Vampire Cullings are the leaders of an underground resistance. Of course none of them are educated enough to execute a proper Coup and the resistance is squashed within a year.

But during that year Weber was known as a legend at killing Vamps, they all feared the blur of yellow and blue.
