No, though we were just about to discuss the Cole Hamels situation. - BulliesPhan87
Bucci tweeted that a Gaborik for Dan Boyle traded almost went down... that strengthens my feeling that Rags will end up landing Weber. |

I like what your suggesting. Quick question do you feel that Read and Simmonds would be better of being on the third line? I don't feel that those guys are second line players. Both had great seasons last year but not sure if they should be top 6 players, just my opinion, curious to what others think. - stveshdy
Agreed.
And Chek is a 2nd line player.
Creating that hole on the top RW spot.

Who is Bucci?
I am not being funny, I'm simply ignorant on this.
I only follow (in no order) Ek, Dreger, Leed (thanks to HB) and now Eskin.

Voracek is absolutely capable of playing on the first line...
The biggest problem we have on this board is that we expect guys to be elite in their positions. Name me a team that has 3 top line forwards, 3 second line forward, and 3 third line forwards.
Hell name me 5 teams with 3 top line forwards... |

I dont see both Nash and Boyle, or Nash and Weber.. that would gut them while at the same time crushing their cap. |

Actually a Gaborik for Boyle straight up saves them some money.....
Then they can move Dubinsky plus for Nash and be close to salaries.....they have 15 mil in space right now.... |

I think they just won the cup.
I like Voracek, but I think he compliments Briere better than Giroux. That's all.
Your point of a perfect scenario is a good one though. |

So you can name one team? Thats my exact point.. there are maybe 3 teams in the entire league that have a true #1 LW,RW,C all on the top line... |

It would save them money.. but Dubinsky + for Nash? If Nash is getting moved.. he is gonna command way more than a package starting with a Brandon Dubinsky... Which means more roster players.. If the rumor that the asking price is a top 6 forward, a top 4 d-man, 2 top prospect, and 2 1sts is true.. your talking about trading a hell of a lot away... and filling that void with two big contracts. It would save them money for sure, but they would also need to add two forwards to the mix at least.. Losing Gaborik and another top 6 forward+ would leave them very weak offensively. Replacing them guys costs money.

MJL will love this one (maybe). It isn't the talent level, but the roles and the mix - that is how I am forming my conclusions.
Renberg wasn't the best player in the world but worked well with LeClair and Lindros. With Harts UFC attitude around the net and G's playmaking ability, I think it is imperative that we have someone that can shoot the puck towards the net. I think we all know this is Voracek's weak point.
On a line with Briere and Schenn - he can be more creative and assist those guys in scoring goals.
I like Simmonds and Read on a third line. Total pain in the butt line to play against but it can also score goals.
Just my opinion. You are entitled to yours, and maybe the truth is in the middle.
It's a pleasure discussing with you though - you are always a gentleman, as am I.
Cheers!

Absolutely... and we all saw how well they did last year.
I think there are three teams.. LA, Anaheim, Chicago.. that MAY fit the bill off the top of my head.
LA didnt really..
They had Brown-Kopitar-Williams... Williams to me isnt a #1 winger.. The guy is never healthy and hasnt cracked 60 points since 07.
Anaheim is the ONLY team that there isnt an argument against.
Chicago when they use Kane-Towes-Hossa is also there.
