wish it rained once in a while here....
EDIT: I mean aside from the occasional thunderstorm that is caused by 12 days of above 90 degree heat. |

Glad we're down to fart jokes. If you're plan is to stink up the joint, I'm out for the day.
Have a good one my friends.
Cheers! - Daman

usually hate when guys publicly show up a teammate like that, but can't blame him there. briere literally stood in the slot and watched the whole play develop from the right point, down the wall, around the net and in. |

Toronto makes offer for Bernier. Weber met with Preds to discuss direction of the team and possible signing him long term. |

I said a few years ago I saw Cater do it during a game.. He got taken off during a PP and gave that look.. the "are you serious? him, HA" I dont know how else to describe it. Me and my buddy both saw it.. my buddy was like.. did he really just do that.
I lost a bit of respect then.
In this case.. totally different. A guy is busting his ass, while another is coasting around.. I would be pissed too. |

I wonder if Brindy would come out of retirement? I bet he can still play and we know he is in great shape - vejim
He couldn't play during his last Season in the NHL. Hence the retirement. |

I'll change the subject.
Briere is small. We can't get rid of him.
But he is a fun player to watch. Great on the power play. Let's not forget what it was like to suck on the power play.
He is creative. If MJL is right, and our D-men struggle moving the puck, players like Giroux and Briere can accept a pass and skate up the ice.
Very dangerous in tight. A little like a poor man's Crosby, in that he knows where to go and how to score in tight.
A reminder - our centers don't play in the defensive zone 100% of the time. I understand getting matchups on ice and all that, but other teams need to defend us as well.
He is a south Jersey guy.
Nuff said.
Cheers!

Quite a few things happened on that play. IMO, the biggest play in the sequence was when the puck first went into the corner and Carle didnt take Parise out of the play, nor did he stay with him as the play developed.. If he does this, then no goal is scored. In that coverage, I dont think it was Briere's responsibility to drop down low. Just my opinion
*Disclosure: I like Carle* |

Wellll...
The first few week were good.. and I had some pretttty good stories, but then 4 and half weeks ago I tore me glute.. in 4 places. Ive missed work, cant play hockey, missed a 5k and lacrosse tourney I was supposed to play in, was on crutches for a buddies wedding (although I decided against using them), and I wont mention how hard it was to take a poop. Other than that.. Its been a pretty good summer. |
