I have. Where do you get the info on the Development camp? - bixll
There are a few people I follow on twitter who have their notes published, but with respect to my comments its watching as many of the videos and highlights that I can find...which took awhile. So, a lot of researching and using notes from hockey scouts who are, for the most part, unopiniated. Its hard to read someones "opinion" about a player and write about it constructively. |

Scrivens, Franson & 4th for Bernier
While Bernier is still a valuable prospect, by no means is he proven. His numbers are comparable to that of Riemer and Scrivens and there is always the chance that he doesn't blossom..........To include Kadri, Gardiner or any 1st round pick would be insane! |

Reimer's pro numbers are every bit as good. - Leeman4Gilmour
I refer to pedigree. Bernier has been solid since forever.
Bernier has a much higher chance of becoming a #1 than Reimer or Scrivens. |

Yeah i don't get the set back part. Is it the Kessel deal again. How far are we ahead with Seguin? I honestly don't know. WHo would or top line be Lupul Seguin Macca???
I don't get the set back part. I understand people would rather have Seguin/Hamilton (who hasn't played a game) but how did it take us back a year or two? - walshyleafsfan1
Thing is, if Burke doesn't consider us a better team than we were back then, I doubt he gets Beauchemin, so no Gardiner; probably no Franson either.
And again, who's to say Seguin would've developed properly, being, you know, the next "franchise center" with big Swedish shoes to fill? Schenn certainly didn't pan out as we had hoped and he plays a simple game. #1 center "saviour"? Wow, tall order.
And Hamilton, Knight... more good prospects, but not a sure thing (i.e. Kadri, and he went 7th).
Just failing to see how we'd be on our way to being a Stanley Cup contender any more so than with Kessel. |

Justin Pogge had a high pedigree too at one point.
At some point you have to stop living in the past and prove you can take it to the next level at the NHL and right now, on a stacked LA team, his numbers are no better than Reimer's, who played on a stacked team too: stacked full of poop. |

that will never happen.. this is lombardi.. he over-values every asset he has.
bernier is signed this upcoming season and is still RFA after that.
Lombardi is in the drivers seat here. |

Possibly, but Bernier openly requested a trade.
Regardless though, I am not interested in Bernier and doubt Burke actually put in an offer, especially after saying he wasn't interested in acquiring an unproven commodity for the net. |

very much so, but i def. could see Bernier getting moved because he doesnt want to be backup for career. he wants at least the chance to be a #1. and i dont blame him at all.. |

As much as I think Bernier will be a good goalie, he will not propell the Leafs any higher in the standings than Reimer or Scrivens. I haven't seen an ability from Bernier to 'steal' games anymore than I've seen it from Reimer, albeit he may have a higher ceiling and you do have a plethora of forwards, so maybe you could afford to take the risk? |

write a blog about how much better the Leafs are than the flames......include the lopsided Gilmour trade and the Phaneuf one too, just to rub it in and I'm in! |

Could also see Burke spinning the acquisition like, "I don't consider a player of Bernier's pedigree as 'unproven' at all; he's put up solid numbers at the NHL level, in fact his numbers are on par with Reimer's and he had us at a playoff pace before he got hurt..." |

\and on that note, Reimer showed a great ability to steal games in his rookie season. He stole several when the Leafs were horribly outshot and outplayed.
nobody stole anything for the Leafs last season, but at least he's shown he has it in him.
