I think there will be a Stanley Cup premium even though he didn't play a game; that's generally the case with players' values when they win a cup.

His ceiling may be higher than Reimer's if you're taking into account his draft ranking; he was also the AHL goalie of the year a few years ago, and MVP in QMJHL playoffs.

Pretty decent pedigree, but since playing at the NHL, he isn't exactly blowing anyone away, even when guys like Quick were struggling. Comparing him to say Schneider, a guy who stole the starting job from Lou, is a bit of a stretch though.

Considering his stats at the NHL level are on par with Reimer's and Scrivens has even better AHL numbers (if we're giving weight to stuff like AHL accomplishments and awards), I don't see why we'd give up the farm for him: unless it's something like a 2nd, Scrivens, D'Amigo, I say we pass.

Bernier could be the smarter choice...given the team is around two years away anyways. Luongo would be nice for the right price, but Gillis is being unreasonable from the sounds of it.

I like frattin a lot, but really, hes a great 3rd liner with 2nd line potential. I like his game though, hard nosed hard hitting winger who has a good shot and is young.

Bernier/Reimer combo sounds nice though, especially with Scrivens as the third if one gets hurt or struggles badly.

i dunno, interesting to think about at least.

i wouldnt read too much into peoples opinion on how the leafs GM handles the team. there is a reason we are on hockeybuzz, and not on the phone talking to GM's, brass and scouts.
