I agree that long term Bernier would be a smarter move for the Leafs.

Brian Burke does not have long term left in his contract, he needs to produce results now. TO needs a proven goalie and Luo is the best option avaiable for right now.

If they could talk Thomas into playing next season I would take him instead.

First of all, HILARIOUS to see the Vancouver fans' reaction to this news. All negative because teams like Toronto, Chicago and Florida have other options than just overpaying for Luongo and they might end up stuck with a 5.3 some-odd million backup.

In all fairness, the Leafs really do need a proven option in net right now, but the rumoured price for Luongo is too much to give up. Bernier will cost less, but we're rolling the dice on yet another unproven asset...

Anyone heard any legit rumblings on what the offer might be?

Here we go...

... Shall we discuss all the bullsh!t that Canucks fans spew with not a single cup to their credit?

Keep polishin' the President's Trophies!

We don't need cups to trash talk the Leafs, we just need to make the playoffs.

Lol I'm comparing player to player not team to team. I sure that scuderi was a real impact player in the playoffs So your telling me you wouldn't trade gardiner for scuderi straight up?
- MLeafs81

sure i would. because gardiner will be better.

i don't know why they just don't let reimer and scrivens split the games and gain some experience. the leafs aren't wining the cup this year and the reverse stanley cup gets you mckinnon. if burke can "steal" him then great , if not it's not worth giving away the little that you have for him. burke (frank)ed up and there's no quick fix , he's set the team back 3 years , plenty of time for a goalie to come around.

As much as the trade sending McDonough et al for Gomez?? Lolz

Hockeyyinsiderr said a roster player and 2013 second rounder so that's gotta be the offer right?

It may be along the lines of what BBs willing to pay, but definitely not what Lombo would accept.

I would think Macarthur would be the most likely candidate, as he has consistently put 20+ in the back of the net each of the last two years and probably has a high trade value

JOFFERY LUPUL

ILYA KOVY
JOHAN HEDBERG
DAVID CLARKSON

Now, I know there's no chance in hell that ever happens, but would you do it or not?

i don't think that set the habs back three years. i didn't like the move , like most hab fans but i'm happy with the new GM and the moves he has made so far. the leafs have some very good complimentary players coming up but no stand outs and Kessel is not a franchise player , seguin is.

To be honest with you, I don't know to much about the leafs. Except kadri is the next wayne gretzky. Can we have him?

- Deadmau55

And that's why I put the type of player in parenthesis for you, to illustrate how mental the proposal was.

Ya I'd do Mac n a second in a heartbeat for bernier. Plus bernier has already said he wanted to be traded by this past trade deadline and wants to be gone before training camp so hopefully it lowers the value a little bit.

Dumb question, you should know the answer.

And I'm tired of Augello's lovefest for Bernier. Reimer has put up better numbers and they're roughly the same age. Enough already.
