I heard it was Komisarek, Connolly and a 2nd. Komisarek will help them get to the cap floor and would be a great mentor to Douwty or whatever. Connolly would split duties with Penner. - weirdoh
While one is breaking himself sitting down for pancakes, the other is on the ice whilst waffles are thrown? Sounds like a match made in sugary heaven.... |

People need to remember what Burke says to the media is often aimed at his players, and other GMs and agents he is negotiating with. It's a poker game. This is a lawyer who negotiates deals and motivates athletes, I don't want him to announce the straight goods into a microphone, I want him to play poker and lie his ass off. - Zezel
This. I don't take too much notice of what he says really. |

I'm not the source, HNIC's Andi Petrillo is and she is very credible, unlike fakes like Incompetent Bob and Hookey Insiterr - mikeinbuffalo
I certainly trust her more than most of the people reporting on these things. The fact that I've seen her talking to people on our team before means that she's significantly more legit than most.... |

Holy sh!t!
I'm reading through these posts and seeing people suggesting that Gardiner, 1st rounders, Kadri, etc etc etc be included for Bernier!
Why would Burke trade any of these assets for an unproven back-up goalie who might not even be an upgrade over Reimer and maybe even Scrivens!?!?!? |

Oh lawd oh lawd oh lawd!
... wait,
Leafs GM Brian Burke stated earlier in the month in an interview with Sportsnet’s Bob McCown that he would likely not trade for another organization’s unproven commodity.
“We’re not looking at that avenue, the couple goalies that moved (Anders Lindback, Sergey Bobrovsky) are just what you said, young unproven guys, that's not an avenue that were interested in….. we’ve kicked the tires and all the prices, but that's not an avenue that were looking at.” - "Bernier Not A Certain Solution", Mike Augello - Conquest
If this offer is realistic, I don't see how it adds any stability and certainty to the Leafs goaltending. Bernier is more well thought of than Reimer and Scrivens, but is just as inexperienced.

And Bernier has more of a pedigree than Lindback. LA is either going to rape another team, or hold on to him. - Fosco
Then let them hold him.
He's RFA at the end of next year. He'll put a gun to their head and be moved. He's blocked by Quick, his value isn't going to get better as he rots on the bench, and he'll be traded next off-season for a 2nd and an average prospect/roster player or something. |

The fact that you think hockey is just a numbers game is laughable.

No, there no way that Tampa might have overpaid either, right?
How about what the Sens got Bishop for?... A 2nd!
Furthermore, Reimer also has very comparable numbers to Bernier and he's done it on a weaker team! Also, after the season Scrivens had with the Marlies and the few games he had when called up to the Leafs, Scrivens also looks like a gamer!
While Bernier does have potential, he still remains unproven. - As_I_See_It
If the leafs believed that what they have was anywhere close to Bernier they would make an offer for him. |

Less experienced when compared to Reimer. With about equal numbers across the board. Benefit of the tie goes to Reimer for not playing behind Drew Doughty in a defensive system. |

I think we all need to follow the rule that a hockey report is not accurate unless it comes from a GM or Dreger/Mckenzie. |

Like I said the leafs should get bernier but do not overpay for a backup goalie....Burke is not crazy he does well in trades.... |

Let's also take into account the teams that have been playing in front of Reimer and Bernier the past couple seasons. |

Huh?
I believe you have a type in there somewhere.
Why would we make an offer on Bernier if we believed what we have is close to him? |
