Dude you would seriously rather give a first to Calgary for Kipper than for Halak?
I wouldn't give up a first I would rather hold on to it more than do anything. - maverickJ
Until there is a new CBA, and no lockout, that 1st shouldn't be moved for ANYTHING |

I wouldn't trade the first for most anything, especially this year. |

how do you get "id rather give up a first for kipper over halak?"
at no point in time did i ever say id rather kipper over halak, let alone id rather kipper.
stop putting stupid statements together that are conjured out of the air.
if St Louis moves halak - the payback will be more than what they gave Montreal for him.
so that first your so concerned about giving up, would be about 1/3 of what we would have to give up. |

depends how Dubnyk holds up under that ghastly defence. - DoubleDown
Tell me, have you looked up team defensive statistics for last season? The horridness of our D is overblown and really is just perpetuated by other teams fans who don't even really watch the Oil. A healthy Whitney will make a lot of difference. I'm one of the few not worried about Dubs. IMO he has what it takes. |

I thought the Leafs biggest need was a center? So how about we stop talking goalie and look at next year FAs? |

And the only article you've got. Now please, explain to me again why a 17th overall is more valuable than a proven all-star goalie. - GuyLaDouche
i bet the kid hasnt seen kipper play more than 3 nhl games in his career.
so gluck getting a intellectual response. |

Reposting this because everyone overlooked it and I think it's a good point:
This sort of 'I won the internetz!' response is, sadly, weak as hell. You've proven nothing beyond the ability to use a keyboard. You posted one article from NHL.com and don't seem to understand the concept of 'self-promotion'. Would you like me to explain what an "off-side" is to you next? Because a number of other basics seem to escape your grasp. - GuyLaDouche
I see what you mean, but the NHL also said openly that this year's draft class was relatively weak, when compared to others. So I don't know how they would call a draft class weak, yet say the next years is strong to self promote. If they were always self promoting then they wouldn't have said this year's was weak. No? Not trying to get into the whole Kipper thing though, rather sit back and watch that unfold. |

Yakupov is amazing, his injury issues are far away from his talent. But Barkov and Mackinnon are literally both 2 weeks from being drafted in 2014 and are already light years ahead of every single player including Jones who is a full year older than them. I know you won't be drafting 1st overall so everybody drafted next year sucks, but it's the truth sorry. 2013 is setting itself up to be a beast of a draft. - AdamFrench
I thought that MacKinnon was too young to go next year. His birthday is in Sept. 7th I believe. He was just 16 when they started last season. |

And considering that they are going to tighten the free agency rules, it's even more stupid to surrender your picks. |

Well according to most people on this site, they seem to want to go with Reimer, get a #1 center, and see how things work out, then address the goalie situation after next season. Just saying what most Leaf fans here have said. |

Especially if they go with the same criteria as the last lockout, would a bonehead move by Burke, likely his worst thus far. |

well let's say could be. Reimer could have a bounce back year or Scrivens could pull a Reimer...
if either or both happen, Leafs will do quite well.
We are assuming (with reason) that and upgrade is needed to take away the "ifs."

thats because our goalies are both unproven.
they COULD be great, or not.
Bozak is pretty close to as good as he's going to get...so its a guarentee'd improvement...putting in say...Bernier over Reimer...may not be an upgrade, who knows!?
get my drift brother? |

Three kids I grew up with got drafted this year...one to the Bruins, which is pretty cool seeming as though we grew up a mile from the garden. Good to here though...hope he does well!! |

I never said it will be a horrible draft. Reel it in Sparky. I have been preaching some patience as far as the DEPTH of it. I have said, clearly, that Mackinnon and Jones and Barkov will be beasts. Dont go getting all pissy with me because I'm remaining merely observant about a draft that's still a (frank)ing year away. Jesus.. |
