Why are you guys still freakin asking why is Bernier a shore thing. No one is a shore thing. You have to take risks on talents for the sake of your franchises. Its what you go through drafting kids, trading for players proven/unproven. You trade for talents and hope they perform. That said Bernier hasnt played poopty hockey since going pro. This year isnt a good example seeing as how crappy our team played until the last 2 months.
Funny thing is most leafs fans are talking about liking and wanting Bernier. But dont want to trade anything for him. Guess what. You dont get talented players for free. |

Nah, the hockey Pope is Monsignor Burke! The is the Vatican of Hockey, remember?
As for Bernier, remember that two springs ago, Nonis was the GM of team Canada in the World Championsips. Nonis' team began the tournament with Reimer in net. When the LA Kings were later eliminated, Bernier was parachuted in and he took the net from Reimer.
Not sure what the Kings are like prospect wise in net. Either Reimer or Scrivens could be moved as part of the deal. Personally, I think its a sideways move and not the way Burke should go. - triggermartin
How should he go??Most goalies are gone, I don't see many available thru trade as another teams backup that has what we need besides UGGG vancouver, So it's bernier, luongo, maybe elliot is available or theodore if Luongo goes there
I really don't see a whole lot of options and I am sure Burkster doesn't either. |

Come on, you guys expect players to be given to you for nothing.
Frattin isn't a sure thing... - Scooby_Doo
No, I don't expect Bernier to be "given to us for nothing".
I just don't really want the kid that badly. I know the price would be high, hence my comment: pass.
He had 5 wins playing on the Stanley Cup champion. His sav% would be .009 better than what we have (worst case scenario). Reimer posted .900 coming back from injury.
Unless I could get Bernier on the cheap to increase our odds of finding a starter, I'll pass. I am under no delusions of Bernier being a guarantee. He might not even be a starter here when all is said and done. |

I will say though, that more then likely, gardiner will be a better player then scuds. But even then, the comparison isn't fair, because scuds is a stay at home D, and gardiner is more offensive if im correct. - Deadmau55
Your forgiven.....now give us Bernier and penner for gunnarsson 2013 2nd and maybe blacker or percy or someone along those lines

True, but keep him around and develop. No point in giving up assets for a goalie who has similar pro numbers to Reimer's. - WafflesAtACC
I wouldn't say they're that similar. Reimer's save% was ugly last season. |

How about Bernier & 3rd for Frattin & 2nd? - tkecanuck341
To be honest, i wouldnt do it, not because its not fair value-wise because i think it is, its just that we already have our own unproven young goalie and Frattin is a workhouse with a very good shot, he's physical and defensively responsible, a perfect player for Carlyle. But thats a good hockey proposal. |

why are we righting off reimer... he had a weak sophmore year (not uncommon) and was trying to catch up to game speed all year after whiplash/concussion/etc 4 games in... and in the 4 games before that he wasnt bad... if we get bernier then great... cant they split time? |
