Yes in 2012-2013 season Girgensons will have the bigger impact..

But I think in the long run Grigorenko could be a 30g/40a player as a 1C and Girgensons could be a 22g/35a type player as a 2C

I just don't know where Hodgson, Ennis, Catenacci, and Sundher will all fit in by then.

I think in order to get full potential out of all of these players they have to be surrounded with the right type of wingers and I don't know if we have the right type of wingers currently to allow Grigorenko to be the player he "could be"

there we go talking about potential again.

well i fell like ennis could move back to wing, but as far as the other 3, thats where the logjam occurs...then we'll have people on here posting about which center we should trade to get a scoring winger.

not third line winger...

We will have 3 scoring lines that will all rotate and get somewhat equivalent minutes unless one line is just scorching at the moment.

Or one line size or speed would be more beneficial against who our opponent is that game.

- JVince11

i know...speaking more to the ridiculous idea that we'd get into a virtual bidding war with as many as 10 teams for a proven star player and pay him crazy cheddar to then be relegated to the 3rd line.

chill.

Id hope we would move him in a deal then move him to the wing. Think of the outrage if we didnt get a player like a bobby ryan cause ennis was a center we couldnt deal then move him to the wing.

Time will only tell...

I think between Hodge and Ennis... one will be traded for a winger some day.

I think Ennis has shown more.. but I think Hodge has untapped potential.

I think Hodge is a better 2 way player.. but I think Ennis's motor and passion is matched only by Gerbe on this team.

I just am hoping both Grigs and Girgs pan out because I do think the Sabres have a 1C in Grigorenko.. and a dominating force in 2C/3C in Girgensons.

Add Foligno and Armia with them and its a good young "base"

no, im saying when the 2 g's mature and get to the point where we may be able to rely on them in a 1C/2C role. which means at least one of hodge/ennis would be moved in some sort of trade, which in reality is why im shocked darcy didnt bite the bullet and go out and get bobby ryan if that ennis, psysk and 1st for ryan was a legitimate option.

sure it'd hurt now, but if the g's pan out, we can make that kind of a move no problem.

although if we did move ennis to get ryan this offseason, i think hodge could play 1C still, and have grigs as 2C just to see what he does. worked for EDM with Nugent-Hopkins.

I think it was a 2nd and not a 1st actually...

I understand both sides of this argument.. Ennis is our best center on the team "right now" even though Hodgson could be better.. it is just potential right now.

If we trade Ennis.. and the G's aren't ready... for 1.5 or 2 years.. we are in serious trouble on this team!! Just imagine if Hodgson were to get hurt too.. we would be looking at forcing Leino, Gerbe, Adam, Catenacci, or Girgensons to hamper their development.

Now granted.. they could come up like Foligno and be a rockstar or they could come up like Szczchura or Whitmore who were playing great in the A but couldn't cut the mustard in Buffalo.

nvm what I just said..

I wouldn't mind Grigorenko playing as our 2C either to get him the experience..

I think a lot depends on who is at his wings..

If it is Ott and Ryan.. I would drool in happiness... if it was Leino I would punch a kitten.

I wouldn't mind that.. but Girgensons was a #14... RNH was a #1.. their skill sets are really different.

Girgensons highest level of competition was at the USHL level and that says something. I was on a coaching staff for the USHL and those guys are tiny, puny, unmotivated, entitled, and immature punks 65% of the time.

I coached a guy that was drafted by the Stars in the 3rd round and was committed to Michigan but needed a stop gap in between.. he SUCKED for us.. but I see that at michigan the last year he was a top 5 scorer.

i think he was talking about Grigorenko not Zemgus... i could be wrong but he said grigs not girgs

Thanks...

Alex Guptil... kid was 6'3 190 lbs... drafted by the Stars in the 3rd round.. Kid has THE WORST flexibility I have EVER SEEN!

When he sat on the ground.. he could even sit indian style. He could not sit with his legs straight out in front of him and even reach to touch his knee caps.

I had to work with him every single day for 30 minutes just on stretching to loosen him up.

he had about 20 pts in a USHL season for us... kid goes to Michigan as a true freshman and leads the team in goals, points, and PP goals.

WTF
