93 blogs of how bad Peckham sucks, trade him for a 7th rounder, and how he's barely an NHL caliber player.

Now at 1 mill its a good signing.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but you wouldn't be Richard Cloutier if you didn't flip flop on every topic under the sun.

Hall = Injury case
Hemsky = Injury case
Klefbom = unproven in North America
1st founder would be a later pick with Weber in the line up.

If we add Weber's contract, we'd lose one of Hall, Ebs, Nuge or Yaks come contract time anyway, might as well cut one loose to get the number 1 D-Man that we desperately need.

Hall is a leader on the team, but Weber would replace that him job that capacity instantly. He'd probably contribute more points as well.

Besides, I didn't realize this was an application for a GM position.

So why does NSH do this then?
- Lahey

I'm not sure that they would, but it would be my offer.

I'm convinced that Nashville will lose Weber, especially with Suter gone.

Hall and Hemsky would give NSH two legit Top 6 forwards.

Klefbom (while unproven) will be a Top 4 defenseman and can fill a hole on Nashville's blueline with the departure of Suter and Weber (not saying he is anywhere as good yet).

Oilers may have to throw in a Sutton or a Teubert to satisfy an immediate need if Klefbom is not available to play in the NHL this year.

The first is always a good thing, especially since the team would essentially be entering a rebuild after losing Weber and Suter.

As I said, I don't know if the Preds would accept this offer, actually I doubt they would, but it would be my offer, and with Hall involved, it may be enough to get their attention.

I'd love to have Weber, but that's way too much. Both those guys are top 3 forwards.

So lets blow up our team for one player? our top 6 would be Ebs, Nuge Yak gags, smyth and maggie? Klefbom was the best Dman at the WJHC last year. Those 2 firsts are probably going to be top 15 if not top 10 after that trade.

Why the hell would NSH take two injury cases???
Why would we lose one of those 4 contracts with weber??? Look around the league at how many teams are paying 5 or 6 players 5mil+ per season and do the math, even with all 5 of em having an average cap hit of 7mil per season thats 35 mil leaving another 35 mil for the rest of the team, pretty sure they would be able to make that work.

Too lazy to read through three pages to see if this was mentioned but Petry vastly improved his physical game. I would say he is actually more physical than Schultz. From what I've seen of Schultz anyways.

So the ask for Weber is something like:
2 top 6 forwards
1 top 4 Dman
2 prospects
2 1st rounders

I'd offer:
Hemsky
Pajaarvi
Klefbom
Gernat or Musil
2 1sts (maybe just one)

Assumes Weber is signed to 10 year ~80 mil contract.
Any takers?

- BigDre

I don't think Hemsky and Paajarvi are going to satisfy the 2 top 6 players requirement, unless you're offering up either Hall or Nugent-Hopkins with one of them. Paajarvi is technically still a prospect and unproven at the NHL level and Hemsky is arguably not a top 6 player on a good team. He's averaged just 33 points over his last 3 seasons. Klefbom is still an unproven prospect.

I'm quite certain the Preds are looking for young "proven" talent, not an average veteran and 2 other players that have minimal time at the NHL level. That would be where the 2 prospects come into play.

I'm guessing if the Preds were to persue a deal with Edmonton, they'd more than likely be looking to get back RNH or Taylor Hall along with Yakopov. You're talking about arguably the best Defenseman in the league, not sure how you thought Nashville would accept Edmontons average winger and a couple of unproven prospects not to mention you didn't even bring any of their top picks into the conversation.

You must be dreaming.
