You can keep Franson, we already traded him away. Give us Gardiner in his place and swap out Kadri for another 1st.
- dgutzman

Phaneuf, Gardiner, and two firsts for Weber. Ummmm....no?

Coupons for 2 for 1 at the Stampede will not entice him.

for the sabres to get weber myers will have to be included. that is a no go for me.
myers and ehrhoff are suiting us well.

Not necessarily, If it comes down to brass tax and Nashville can't sign him I think quantity might do it. If you look at there roster, there hurting for NHL ready defense men. Leopold, Sekera, Gerbe or Weber, and a pick. That's 2 or 3 NHL ready Dmen or 2 and a winger. And that would only be if Weber would sign for 8 mil and if Buffalo wants to give up all that depth on D

Well let's face it, at 28 years old, Hemsky should still be in the prime of his career on the way to his peak which would probably be right around 31 or 32. Unfortunately for Ales, he's already hit his peak and never really got to enjoy his prime before it ended. Hemsky is at best a 3rd or 4th liner on a good team although he had promise and great potential early in his career showing flashes of elite talent, injuries and other issues have hampered his development into that elite player Edmonton was hoping to see.

Problem is, they still think he's going to be (or is) an elite level player.

- MnGump

Name one such issue other than injuries. He plays really good hockey when healthy, but he's injured all the time. It's as simple as that.

I saw in the other thread you postured him as a guy who's averaged 33 points in his last three seasons. He's also of course averaged 46 games only. To put it another way, 100 points in his last 138 games (which sounds equally slanted, doesn't it). Dude's a bandaid, that's it. He hasn't disappointed in any other way.

2 top 6 forwards, 1 top 4 defender, 2 top flight prospects, and at least 2 first round draft picks

Marchand, Seguin, Siedenberg, Hamilton, Subban, and 2 1sts for Weber?

- GSDIV

This just goes to prove how insane that asking price is. That is, if it would in fact be the asking price. Throw in his wages (say 8m per) and Weber would need to be his own D line. I don't mean pairing him with another plug and still holding the line, I mean having 4 forwards playing with Weber as the lone back.

Where is Bernier going?
No news on Doan front? What a suprise...Just stay in PHX and lose Doan
Nash and Howson are both idiots.....nothing new to report there.
SJ thinks they can afford any FA or trade for a player like Nash or Ryan...which is stupid.
No one cares about NSH.
Philly is involved in everything including Schilling's bloody sock from 2004

Mighty big talker for a team that finally won a cup after all these years. Couldn't even win it with Gretzky.

If this is the case, The Pens should seriously consider trading Crosby. The asking price? 4 first line Forwards, 4 top defensivmen, 6 first round picks, a Zamboni, and your first born.

Its a jealousy thing, I get it.
I want you to know it doesnt hurt my feelings that Gretzky didnt win a Cup with LA. He did somthing much more valuable than winning a Cup and that is bring hockey to a state that now has 2 Cups.

Lets talk about STL and how they are still searching for a Cup (Dont see people giving them sh!t for not winning). I know people hate LA and I am ok with that.

You people need to get over the fact that LA won the Cup.

2 Top Six forwards
1 Top four defender
2 Top Flight prospects

"AND"

2 First round picks

All so you can pay a guy "MAX" money ? ? ?

REALLY ? ? ?

Whoever does that should be FIRED

- .HOHO.

If that's truly the asking price for Weber, Nashville is going to lose him for nothing. It's not like this is Nash who's under contract forever. Why would anyone pay that much to get a guy they could get for free in a year? Poile is on the clock right now.

Either way ---- that trade would be Cap-impossible. Just how much salary is moving here? No way.

I wouldn't even begin to speculate on this stuff before the new CBA comes out.

What would happen, for instance, if the NHL said, "Oh, by the way, a player's actual salary is his cap hit. You can buy out contracts now if you like, free of penalty."

I suspect we'd see a whole lot of free agents hitting the marketplace.

Which is why Weber will want to sign a contract before the new CBA goes into effect.

It's disgusting to think corporations are considering paying people that much money to "play a sport they love" when children are starving to death. Kinda makes me sick

Why would we come in here and act like idiots?

No team would give up that much for Weber. That is crazy overpayment. Paying that would cripple a franchise. Would be biggest overpayment since the Flyers overpayed for Lindros and handed the Av's the cup.
