Dont want Schenn By the way Burke won that trade. If JVR can get consistent. I never liked Schenn that much. I see him topping out as a number 4 defensemen. To slow and lacks awareness sometimes in the defensive zone.

Both teams are too close to the cap to do these deals. Van would REALLY need to sweeten the pot to get Marleau. It would have to be Lou, Jensen and a pick.

As for Leddy...Vancouver hasnothing Chicago wants other than Lou and your not getting rid of him unless Crawford and other junk is included going back to Van.

And this comes from a non-Hawks fan. If Lu goes to Chicago, a bad contract ala Frolik, montador, or Olesz heads to Vancouver. Shaw is what the Hawks need, they need to get tougher, not weaker.

Honestly think Gillis is not dealing from a position of strength. may reduce the return. I do think if he goes to Chicago Leddy and a Salary dump are part of the return. If a deal can't be made then Vancouver can fork out almost $10 mil in net. I think Gillis will get what he can for Lu, but it probably will not be a top prospect (Huberdeau), a top 6 winger (Versteeg) and a 1st. Don't think any team in the league is going to overpay to help the Canuck jettison salary commitments for the next 6 years. Just my opinion.

6.9mm cap hit for a guy who lost the captaincy and isn't a playmaker.

Well there's four known teams that are talking with the Canucks and who knows if there's more. I think there is. So when you have that many teams offering for one player they will have to outbid one another. I see that as a position of strength. Brodeur is playing into his 40's.. and Luongos contract ends at 42 but I beleive he'll retire before that. He's got another great 6 years left. Any team needing to make the playoffs should give up some significance for the playoffs.
