Nice, and there's the daily stab at the leafs as required.
So you believe that if the Leafs, a team who hasn't made the playoffs since before HD was available, is going to benefit from a 6.9mm cap hit and a player who comes from an EXTREMELY talented team that doesn't get it done when it matter most? And probably at the cost of a solid prospect and high draft pick? No thanks - Juice
Are you talking about Marleau or Kessel? |

Yep. But would they be willing to part with the young pieces SJ would want. Colbourne, Kulemin and a 1st? - Bieksa#3
as much as id want marleau, our 1st or kulemin would not be on the table if it was me , we need those two assets too much |

If we're judging him on his 1.5 seasons as captain...no, I don't.
He's in the NHL, of course he can pass, but he's absolutely not a playmaker and that's what the Leafs need.
Anyway...this is a Canucks board, no need for Leafs talk. Will gladly continue this conversation in Augello's blog. - Juice
When will you ever find the the player you need the most but the leafs need something and he could be that something and if he doesn't go to TO then I hope he goes to Van and beats SJ |

No stab at the Leafs. Their team is just at a different stage right now than what you'd think a player like Marleau at this stage of his career is looking for.

The Leafs at this stage need to keep their prospects/draft picks so trading them for Marleau at this point in time is probably not in their best interest. |

I would rather pay Doan 7.5. It's pretty much the same cap hit and doesn't cost any assets

You are in a Canucks thread and we're talking about the Leafs and have already taken up more than half the board with it.

Ian Esplen: Target Marleau/Leddy
Target Marleau/Leddy - IanEsplen
Both teams are too close to the cap to do these deals. Van would REALLY need to sweeten the pot to get Marleau. It would have to be Lou, Jensen and a pick.
As for Leddy...Vancouver hasnothing Chicago wants other than Lou and your not getting rid of him unless Crawford and other junk is included going back to Van. |

Leddy has issues-LOTS. But, on a positive note.. when he winds it up from behind the net and gains speed through the nuetral zone...its beautiful. I know there's more involved, blah, blah, blah...I'm just sayin--WHEN he skates..its effortless...
OH if my son could skate like that!!! |

It's hilarious how much value Canucks fans are putting on Luongo. You'd be lucky to just get rid of his contract, let alone get anything in return. |

Sharks really could use a goalie...I don't know why they haven't been metioned much before as a destination for Lu...
I think a package starting with Lu+ for Marleau & Niemi would work...
Patty playing alongside Sedin's would be sick... |

I really hope that this was a joke...
That would barely get you Marleau's jockstrap (without cup) |

for that price, it though. would need to tweak it a bit.
Say drop Kulemin and insert MacArthur or Liles.

For that price you could get the younger, bigger Getzlaf... |
