He holds all the records but isn't very good? Wow, not many people can do that, he must be great....oh wait...what...
- Domaju

I think the argument of the trap system the Devils employed does have some water to it and does help pad Marty's numbers. I think Roy is a better goalie IMO, but not by much. Plus to be clear, I just like Roy more also...so maybe I'm biased.

I don't hate Hasek, I don't really hate any goalies. I don't like Roy, and I'm not huge on Hasek but I can admit they are hands down 2 of the best ever on the ice.

82 games, i thought he had like 60 points? hahah

Teemu is the finnish flash, he is one of a kind!

- big_dion

Career PPG player smart ass lol. He had 66 points in 82 games this year, but had 80 points in 72 games last year.

i think gretzky left the NHL when he was no longer the best player and didnt stand out like he used to, he wanted to leave as the best.

kinda like how seinfeld ended and it could have went a few more seasons easily!

- big_dion

His back was ruined.

He just couldn't do it anymore.

Maybe a little bit padded, but not a lot imo. He played a VERY long time. They couldn't have that SAME outstanding defense for 20 straight years. But I see what you mean. Everyone's got their favourite. Honestly, my favourite isn't Brodeur. My all time favourite is Felix Potvin, and he isn't even close to being the best all time.

I think the GAA is overused. I think save % is a much more important stat. That being said I think the cups matter too, so I still gotta go Roy

Those numbers are pretty amazing. Hasek clearly dominated the era, with all the Vezina and All Star honors, plus 2 Hart trophies as the NHL's MVP to boot. He has by far the best save percentage and the best GAA, despite playing with arguably the weakest team.

Look at that save percentage number - 0.926, the number that many agree is the one goalie stat that is not team dependent. Hasek's percentage is significantly better than Roy's or Brodeur's.

And he had to take a lot more shots to post that sparkling number. Despite playing in 60 fewer games, Hasek faced 925 more shots than Brodeur. Yet he allowed 135 fewer goals.

Brodeur.

Deals with the media in a professional yet friendly manner. Never hear anything negative about him in the press. Seems to be genuinely happy to help out kids and do that sort of stuff.

I realize you were likely being sarcastic, but thought I'd answer anyway lol

He was a Leaf right? Makes sense...I haven't had a Bs goalie I like that much. I've already displayed my disdain toward Thomas here (yes I didn't like him even before he went crazy). I love Rask, but obviously time will tell if he becomes my favorite.

Yeah, he was the goalie in the early 90's during the Leafs cup runs. I don't even really remember too much, but I remember really liking him as a goalie. Plus he has a cool name and I loved the mask...hence my display pick.

Roy generally gets the nod for his memorable playoff performances, but Hasek was certainly no slouch in the playoffs, his career playoffs sv% is 0.925... besting Roy and Brodeur still.

He was the quietest little church mouse.

Which made it all the more fantastic when Hextall skated 190 feet to fight him, and Felix tuned him up like an old piano.

I think Conference Finals is acceptable as a cup run...top 4 teams in the league?
