True, just saying I don't know if you can quite define it as an era...even if he was healthy...an era is a long time, this is my argument. Not seven years. Eras are defined by characteristics of the sport, and by the changes of that sport or time period not necessarily a set year limit. do you see what I mean though, whether you agree or not? Or am I doing this to you - celata29
I understand completely. And that I agree with. I thought before you were trying to say that Corsby wasn't the best of the Era because someone else was. But I see what you mean. You're just not ready to anoint a "best of an era" until the era is over and fully defined. Makes sense.

Exactly! Thanks
Yeah I think he is the best player, just if he never gets healthy again...maybe take a full Stamkos' career or someone else over him as the best player of the era, not necessarily that when they played at the same time that Stamkos was better than Crosby, because he hasn't been.

Nobody has dominated like Gretzky before or after, not in the same way for me it is
Gretzky
Lemieux and Orr
All the other stars - maverickJ
i know I can go back and watch those players, but to not have lived during those times doesn't make it the same. Wish I could have actually gotten to see them play.

Lol I forgot about Kadri....
Hmmm Howe above Orr eh, interesting.
I thought you said I changed your opinion too - maverickJ
I wasn't being sincere.
I saw Orr play in person when he was in his prime, but I was too young to appreciate it. I have only seen Howe on tape, and in his 50s. So those two are difficult to place.

Same could you imagine if Gretzky played for Phoenix now and didn't coach for them... Still probably wouldn't sell out but still

For me, it's:
Kadri
Lemieux
Gretzky
Howe
Orr - hscesq
I'd put Lemieux above Gretzky too. And Orr is well placed; he's the best defenseman to ever play the game, but he's not better than the names above him. Certainly not Kadri.
