i just think alot of people are jumping the gun thinking kadri will even make this team.. next year.. when some of the vets contracts are up sure.. chances are good.. but unless some deals are made in the next month.. he's gonna need a hell of a camp to steal a job in the top 6. - Dozzer
He's working out with Roberts... |

That's kinda the problem with this team. He shouldn't need a hell of a camp, he just needs to be better then one guy, which I'm sure he will be, but even if he is, they will play the guy they are paying more money. |

According to Burke, he will be making deals...hopefully it clears up space for Kadri.
Still some time left. |

In all seriousness though, there are a few other teams I can think of. Philly, Buffalo, Pitt, Carolina, Washington, San Jose, and Chicago. Probably a few others. - celata29
In all seriousness i forgot Chicago, (frank) the rest. It is cool now, cause some of them have good teams, and hockey seems to be the cool sport for a few years, that will change, when Pitts and Washington has poop teams their numbers weren't so good, add two superstars, well 3, and all of a sudden there was interest. Buffalo is a southern ontario leaf fan haven, quicker, cheaper and much easier to get tickets then it is in TO. Philly isnt really a hockey town, it is a Flyers town, when the flyers suck so does the number of fans in the stands. The rest, meh, at best. |

Jay Feaster has to be a hated man right now in NHL circles for that ridiculous Wideman contract. That deal alone has escalated the price point for every defenseman who is looking to sign an extension. - mikeinbuffalo
Strategic perhaps?
Many believe Wideman would have fetched the price Feaster paid, had he hit free agency anyways. He had the money and needed some help with respect to point totals on the backend... |

meh... not like he has leveredge to hold out. He can whine for a 1-way deal which they will probably give him, but aside from that, not an issue.
At this point he needs to prove to them he SHOULD be resigned. |

For a smaller player like Kadri it could mean a bunch. |

burke will be making trades so there is room for both frattin and kadri.
who, how and what are debatable, but I don't see that duo in the minors again. |

seems likely...
saw something the other day about the teams that are in tough markets with NFL/MLB teams actually wouldn't mind missing Oct-Nov as they don't get any fans/viewership then anyway. After December no competition. |

and only half as big an issue if Frattin isn't ready for Camp, which was said to be likely he would miss it. |

Traded if he doesn't get his poop together this year, i get the feeling they will give him every opportunity to succeed this year, especially in light of what happened to schenn, have to believe that Burke's fate in some way may just be tied to Kadri and his success this year, or even lack thereof. I get the feeling someone gets moved shortly after the pre-season if Kadri proves himself in camp. |

What's Kadri waiver eligibility like?
Can he be sent down without someone claiming him?

next year alot of useless contracts come off the books... timing is good... the first round of developed prospects should be truly ready.. not just the guys who "could be" ready this year |
