Still can't believe it.... I met Wade once at a practice i went to back in Grade 8. My teacher was Chad Kilger's brother in-law, so we got to go to a closed practice. Guy was a beauty

What's up with all of the CC love going on here? When I saw the Leafs play Vancouver during the season, saw some dude wearing a Cross jersey and I almost fell out of my seat. I couldn't believe someone owned one of his jersey's let alone the fact someone actually went out and bought one. You that fan I saw? Or maybe your actually CC himself tooting your own horn?

Guys, Cross was terrible. Seriously. Terrible.

So was Belak. And yeah, I know he died, but does that retroactively make him a less poor hockey player?

I'm sure Wade Belak was a good guy, but he was a terrible hockey player.

I'm just looking at stats. Clearly he wasnt that bad if he was a positive 5 on 5 player for 3 seasons. He didn't really play any where else. He got around 15 poin ts on our 3rd pairing.

In that he's our highest rated offensive prospect, yes.

And no, that isn't to suggest that every piece I mentioned is directly equivalent to every piece in that Florida package.

I'd argue that our first rounder is more valuable by about 4-6 spots, for instance. That could make up the difference between Kadri (drafted 7th) and Huberdeau (3rd)

He also played half the season because he was a 7th d-man.

Playing against other teams' 4th lines in front of Curtis Joseph doesn't hurt, either. His numbers were far worse everywhere else.

Agreed on Cross.
Even Wade Belak himself knew he was a terrible hockey player. He knew his role well...and that was fighting. Nobody is pretending that Belak was more then just a fighter on the ice. His personality was so bright off of it....that is the sole reason fans miss him so. What a waste....I hope it was some kind of mistake and that Wade didn't purposely take his own life. Either way though it won't bring him back.

Knowing we traded Tukka Rask for Andrew raycroft makes Me want to throw up. And we're still looking for a number one goalie.
